Yesterday I just bought a new 8000mah power bank(ProMini 8000), which has 2.1A output but I still not very satisfy with the charge speed compare to the stock Note 2 lte charger.

So I did some experiments, found out charge speed have A LOT to do with the quality of cables! Going to share the result with you guys.

here are the tests
1. First is "Note 2 LTE stock charger + Note 2 LTE stock USB cable"
2.%20Note2_lte_stock_charger_stock_cable.png

1.8A, not bad!

2. "The new power bank(ProMini 8000) + The USB cable came with the package"
1.%20ProMini8000_and_cable.png

1A...meh

3. "ProMini 8000 + Note 2 LTE stock usb cable"
3.%20ProMini%208000_note_2_cable.png

WOAH!! 1.5A, lower than the stock charger but really not that bad!

4. "Note 2 LTE stock charger +My old Galaxy Note 1 stock USB cable"
4.%20Note2_lte_stock_charger_note_1_cable.png

1A, So what material is the Note 2 USB cable made of? Uranium? Even Note 1 stock USB cable can't compete

5. "Note 2 LTE stock charger + some home depot generic micro-USB to USB cable"
5.Note2_lte_stock_charger_generic_cable.png

0.6A Well, you get what you pay for..

Honestly, I didn't expect USB cable quality make this much of a difference.
I guess the Note 2 USB cable used some higher gauge wires?

Anyway I am going out to get some more Note 2 stock cable tomorrow, for the power bank and maybe other computers.

Important is the thickness of the cable I think...

I don't think it has anything to do with cable.

Try this,

1. Plug the adapter to power socket,
2. Plug the usb cable to adapter,
3. Open battery setting in your device (note 1 or 2). Before plugging the usb to your phone it should show unplugged
4. Plug the usb cable to device. It should show either AC or USB plugged.
5. UNPLUG and plug the cable until you get what you want, AC (fast) or USB (slow) charging.

I would say that our device keep it balanced between fast and slow charging to extend battery life.

Give it a try and tell me what happen.

AC = adapter charging maybe? Or maybe type of current... There is no switching between two modes on plug\unplug
Oh,and there is no battery settings, only battery info in settings

Yeah man I was going to post on Note 2 forum but accidently I posted in here.
I figure this info would benefit Note 1 users as well(I myself also ex-Note 1 user , great phone! still not feeling dated now)

I believe its more about the Charger it self, should always use original charger never the less.
