Can somebody get a md5sum for the touchnooter.zip? My internet isn't downloading the file very well and I want to make sure I have a good copy before I go putting this in my nook.
I tried this on my newly purchased and just-registered Nook Simple Touch and I appear to be stuck at a boot loop; the "Nook by Barnes adn Noble" screen keeps flashing black restarting at the fourth circle.
I created the SD card, booted from it, waited until the screen turned black, removed SD card, restarted.
*edit*
I don't think I was at 1.1 when I tried this.

You can set it ONE way, but not toggle between them. That is why you (probably) want softkeys, virtual button bar or button savior to take you to your launcher home.Is it possible to switch back and forth between B&N Home and ADW Launcher?
I know I can use NookTouch tools to direct the n button to a specific Home but I can't switch to the other Home after doing so.

Alternately, you could create a shortcut to the B&N home screen on your Launcher home screen using AnyCut or similar.
Ok, complete noob question here....
I have this successfully loaded, but I hit the home button and went to the "nook home". How in the heck do you get back to the android launcher?
Thanks!
You can do a search for ADW with nook home or hit the home button twice. That brings up a choice of nook home or ADW.
Hmm... having the same problem here. I saw ADW once, but ended up back at the Nook home screen. Now when I hold down the home key I get a recent apps list that includes "Home", but not ADW. Searching doesn't turn anything up either, and hitting home twice just makes the menu go away.
What am I missing here?
I did a factory reset and wiped user data, then upgraded to B&N 1.1.2. I downloaded the latest version, then re-rooted a couple of days ago. Everything worked as it did with 1.1.0, including having to wait 24 hours for Market to be functional. I reinstalled a number of apps yesterday with no problems. Tonight, Market search results are much more limited. For example, searching on "dropbox" yields nothing, whereas last night I found both the Dropbox and Dropsync apps. I can install these same apps from the Market web page.
Device Info is showing software version 1.1.0. Interesting. I watched it do the update, so I know it ran. EDIT: I just did an Erase & Deregister, and copied the update file back over. It's updated and is (again) showing 1.1.2. I re-ran the rooting process, and while everything (mostly) works, Device Info is now showing 1.1.0 again. Super Manager does not launch. Waiting 24 hours for Market to re-enable.Could you check to see what version of android you have now on your rooted NST? I did what you did, and after reroot the NST went from 1.1.2 back to 1.1.0 (as expected).

At this point, I don't think TN is quite ready for B&N 1.1.2. Very close, but not quite.
Is anyone else having problems with certain areas of text just not showing up? The first area I noticed was on the market search results. I can browse the market fine and even install apps from it but searching just gives me a blank screen. When choosing a time zone in minimlaistic text I get a large blank screen as well. If it helps, my rooted Nook Color has the same issues sometimes (though in different apps/places).
I just tried to root my daughter's new Nook Simple Touch (1.2 firmware) with the touchnooter-2-1-31 image written to a microSD card but it just hangs at the Touchnooter instruction screen forever. If I remove the SD card and try to reboot it hangs at the "Your Nook is starting up..." screen. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks
This thread is deprecated, however you should be able to use GlowNooter on the normal TouchNooter (based on how B&N does their updates it should work for both). If anyone can confirm this I'll change the front post to properly link to the current update.
No it will not revert to stock. But if you go to my website you can download an mSd card Image that will restore everything back to the original factory firmware image. nook Root (Just click on the "nook Touch" link on the nav bar)
