Inverted AOSP apps for Deodexed ROM`s - Aroma Installer Update 13.06.

These are fory guys who love ICS AOSP look & feel, are looking to replace some weaker apps like album with nice ICS gallery or just want to save precious battery life and enjoy the beautiful black on our Amoled screens.

Credits: travp for original inverted ICS apps

Important: You need to be on a deodexed ROM to use these apps

How to flash:

Boot in recovery and install Inverted AOSP.zip
After reboot navigate in data/app with Root Explorer (or any other File Manager with Root Access) and manually install MMS by just clicking on the apk

Inverted apps in this mod:

Calendar
Contacts incl. T9 Dialer
Email
Gmail
ICS keyboard
Gallery
Google Plus
Google Reader
YouTube
GTalk
Play Store

Note: Gallery, Contacts, Dialer & Email do NOT replace HTC stock app, so you can still use these if you want. Gmail, Google Plus, YouTube & Calendar replace stock apps.

Back to stock (in case you are not happy):

Uninstall MMS & LatinIME update
Delete gallery2.apk, contacts.apk, email.apk in system/app

Known issues: Calendar - please don`t access Calendar to sync via Calendar to display, that leads to FC. Choose them via Calendar settings, then you can choose your Calendars to sync.

As always a Nandroid is highly recommended, before you flash this mod.

Good to know: BEFORE you flash either this Mod or back to stock, look in the zip and delete every apk, you might not need. Update zips allow you to control, what you flash.

What is Aroma?

Aroma is a graphical Touch GUI, that allows the user to decide in recovery, which parts of the update.zip he wants to flash or restore

How to install:

Flash in recovery and choose your favorite AOSP apps in Aroma Installer

How to restore:

Flash in Recovery and choose apps you want to restore

Update Inverted AOSP apps 13.06.

That will take a little time, since in both apps combined there are more then 100 xml`s to edit (where the majority of work came from travp anyway, see credits) and I`m out traveling atm. But updates aren´t major, so you can still use the current inverted versions.

Thanks for these. It all looks and works awesomely well.

I am having an issue with MMS.apk though. I followed the instructions and everything went well. But every time I reboot my One S, I get the old HTC app back. Can anyone help?

So I tried that. As the stock MMS app is an update to the system app, disabling the system Messaging app also means the stock app is disabled.

It is really weird that the app should be replaced on reboot.... Is no-one else having this problem?

See attached. Just need to push it to system/app and change permissions.

Edit : should also add that after you've installed it, make sure you clear the app cache/data before you open it (only for the first time)
