To give you an idea, for the HTC One M8, HTC says that a full charge will give 2 weeks battery life in this Mode, and 15 hours from 5% battery.
Although I don't expect to get this good of battery life out of this mode, I believe we should see somewhere close to this.

So if this is self-explanatory, I apologize. When we flash this, will this be part of the OS or does it update the built-in power saving mode so then we need to use that built-in app?

That's awesome. Any idea what it actually does to the phone to do this?

yea it put it in a mode like car mode, and allows basically texting, messaging, look at calendar, and that's about it I believe, it'll be in the next release, unfortunately we have a f/c in settings > usage with this MOD on v3.1 which I am looking into but not sure can fix, but v3.2 should have it working.

Confirmed that it happens with NuSense 6.0 version as well. I am reverting to a ROM with sense 5.5 for now.

ahart814: You were the one that posted a workaround for VVM on custom ROMs back in 2011... it has worked on most of the phones I've owned and would expect it to work most any rooted phone:

  1. Download Visual Voicemail app from Store HERE.
  2. Download Build Prop Editor HERE.
  3. Open Build Prop Editor, allow SU access.
  4. Locate/Search for "ro.HorizontalVVM"
  5. Change from "True" to "False"
  6. Reboot phone when prompted by Build Prop Editor.
  7. Start the VVM App, login.
  8. Profit.
