Super User Fails to install (TWRP 2.6.3.1)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Sll (T989). I have installed TWRP 2.6.3.1 and when I try to install the superuser it keeps failing. Not to sure why, I used three different super user downloads and they didn't work. Any help on this?

Did you try super SU?

Search for the super user you can flash in twrp.

Also....did you check in settings if its there at the bottom? And did you actually try to see if you have root?
