I second that. I use the latest Slim ICS with Matrix kernel and with 3G/Wi-fi always on, browsing, some gaming etc. I always get at least 4 hours of screen on time, which is awesome.
There have many users using this mate and get excellent battery. you have to do a clean install that means wipe data and format system in mounts and storage. Never had a complaint about bad battery in all 7 devices i support. Don't be so quick to make dramatic statements.
Yeah just make sure that you have done a clean install.
This ROM is one of the most battery friendly ROMs I've tried.
I actually find that there's no need of flashing a custom kernel since it already performs fast enough for my daily use.

same here! I got the most screen ON time with my usage.

i think this will be temporarly as the website was online yesterday and everything was working fine.
Agreed with above. There is no email addon within the removed addons.
you will need to update to 3.4 first. open ASS, scroll down to OTA, apps, email, download the 1.2mb apk and run it
i did this on the weekend but kept having authentication issues. I went back to 3.3 and my hotmail authenticated in seconds.
not sure if anyone else was having problems with hotmail but i will try again later this week when i have more time
upgrade the oTA app to 1.1.1 via market, then install email, excahnge via app, done.
Did you also download exchange? I believe email app needs exchange app as well. I could be wrong.
Thank you for your useful post. I would have just assumed that email would have been packaged within the removed addons.
Unless you're using an exchange based service I don't think so. I am using an IMAP enabled email (no exchange) and everything works fine.
Noob question coming from BuglessBeast: Slim is super fast BUT I'm really in need of Dutch system language since I get news and navigation only in English. Is there any way to add Dutch afterwards with a flashable zip or is this too deep in the system?

While there is no recovery image provided with v2.0, i recommend trying out the TWRP (everything touch screen) or CWM 5.0.2.3 ( better confirm menus)

Just flash the above in recovery.
Default is 182 DPI ( use 240 for any incompatible apps or check here for market workaround)

Fresh/Clean Installation Instructions:
Pre-Requisites: need to have CWM recovery or TWRP recovery installed.
- Enter Recovery
- Recommended: do a nandroid back up
- Wipe data/factory reset
- optional: format system in mounts and storage for extra clean install
- select slimICS_vX.X.X.zip to install and wait for it to finish
- optional: select addon.zip and face_unlock.zip to install and wait for it to finish
- reboot to system.
Coming from another 4.0.3 Rom :
- A simple wipe cache and Install the zip file should do it.
Once rebooted, you will most likely see a blank screen. Press the soft menu key and preferences to customize you zeam launcher.

Slim ICS 3.0 - Stable?
- Fast Charge in Kernel and Controlled via ASS - thanks to chad0989 for FC patch - Turned off by default, take a look at this post for how it works.
- Free Mem increase via kernel and device ( increase of about 40 MB) - thanks to Kali of CM team for source, i get about 200 MB free with 60 data apps installed, increase of about 50 MB.
- Face book Sync
- Nav Bar via ASS, turned off by default , turn it on via ASS( search and memu vritual keys are not transparent, other 3 are)
- Calendar ( text ) in lockscreen, turned off by default again, turn it on via ASS.
- Kernel Tweaks via ASS - thanks to AOKP for source - Don't enable fast charge in boot, if you do, it will cut off the data connection to pc.
- Base and Essentials pretty much remain the same size
- Big boost in benchmark performance via secret sauce
- I can't remember what else, have to download 4.0.4 now.
Known Issues with 3.0
- Lockscreen wallpaper doesn't work - original source issue
- Lockscreen weather doesn't, just pull down notification bar
- Search and Menu buttons are not transparent in Nav Bar
