When i was on Android 2.x i've tried FTL Launcher. For me it was faster than gb stock and Launcher Pro. You should try it.

FTL is not really fast, it's like animation have less images per sec, so there is less lag. But it's very uggly...
Im on go launcher too and i have no lag,maybe you have lot of widgets or a heavy theme

go is launcher is fast or no lag but its finishing is not so good,......

Graphics are ok but bloated like hell...tons of weird functions. Its even worse than bloat from HTC...
