iDAREK:

Which apps from 2.x do you mean? There is not a lot of system apps in that rom and all should be based on latest AOSP 4.0.4.

Yes, it is possible - just wipe cache and dalvik cache before update. Reflash of Google Apps is also needed because of some changes in framework.

It should be stable and pretend to be DD.

In CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 5 there is Music App from 2.x, in your is proper...

thnx :)

Hey adam,

First of all, nice work on the port. I've been checking out your github though and I noticed you seem to manually apply a lot of patches from other repos. If you'd like a crash course on git with using cherry-pick to grab those patches automatically I would be happy to help. blk_jack@Freenode

Nova Launcher is a part of AOKP sources, so I would like to not remove it. If you don't want it, you can easily remove it from /system/app with e.g. TItanium Backup.

There are two launcher to choose in that rom - Nova Launcher and Trebuchet. You can switch between them by cleaning defaults in Settings > App > [active launcher]

I'm afraid that you need to download and install Gmail from Google Play. There is no Gmail app in Google Apps package right now.

Given E-Mail app is for other e-mail providers.

Just a quick question,

Is the camera genuinely 100% functional? I take a lot of photos and this has consistently been an issue in ICS roms that I've taken a peek at.

Also, is browser decoding working properly? I've heard that there are still some ironing issues still needed to make the browser nice and smooth. Since most of my usage is very minimal (gmail, voice, light browsing and phone calls) it'd be great to know if these functions are up to par. I currently use Boat Browser due to a light footprint, but it's still using webkit to render pages. I've heard Opera, thanks to its own rendering engine, isn't affected by any issues but I'd prefer to not have to change over.

One last thing but I need to know if GPS and Maps support is fully functional. I could get lost in a wet paper sack, so having solid GPS is an absolute must. Along with this, I've heard of some errors with wifi in ICS roms. I presume you've managed to address these issues?

Any feedback and genuine honesty you could give on the above questions would be greatly appreciated. I've held out for a long time on upgrading to ICS thanks to inattentive Devs who overblow their abilities and the actual status of their roms. I'd love it if this wasn't the case here.

Thank you for your time.

On which version you are?
Did you do full wipe or just wipe cache?

I have no such problem on latest b36 version.

If you mean External SD option don't mind it. It is option for second SD card and if you disable it, pics will be saved on your SD card.

Thank you for your time.

Camera is taking a pictures at 5Mpix without glithes. Led flash Auto mode is working. Camera focus button is working.

Stock browser is probably still bugged (because of webkit). You can use Opera instead, it should be stable.

GPS is working for me and get a fix in ~1-4 minutes (but I'm using Sygic and with Endomondo and I haven't tested Google Maps - but I should). If you have a problem with GPS try to wipe efs partition - http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=574523&d=1303408211.

WiFi issues has appeard in Android 2.x versions and some AP/routers are still not compatible with Android. I'm using WPA2 mixed B+G/mac filter at home/studies and have no problems with connection. I need feedback with other connection types.

You can always make a backup of your current rom and try to flash this one. If you occur some problems, try to logcat it and describe it here. I'll try to help.

Excellent, thank you for your prompt reply. I will give this a run here in the next day or two and logcat if I have any issues. As a matter of interest, have you forwarded your camera fixes along to the other ICS rom developers? I'm not entirely up to date on how they're faring when it comes to ironing out camera issues. Some roms have fixes, some don't.

I would like to present you Android Open Kang Project builds for HTC Vision.

Rom is based on Android 4.0 (ICS) and have a lot of customization options.

It's also DEV thread, so if you have a some problems with rom, first, try to find fix by yourself. If you can't - add post with description of your problem and LOGCAT.

    Any help is welcome :)

I don't do this for any purposes, I just want to learn something new, so if you want to thanks thnk about AOKP Team and/or Andromadus Team :)

Special thanks goes to AOKP dev team (Team Kang) and Andromadus Team!

    What's working:
    - everything should be fine

    What's not working:
    - waiting for feedback -

FOR USERS EXPERIENCING WIFI TO DATA SWITCHING ISSUES WITH THEIR CARRIER ONLY : http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1701467

Try some themes for your AOKP: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=aokp+theme&c=apps
If you're installing it for first time (coming from other rom) do FULL WIPE.

Remember: I'm not responsible for any phone bricks, tornados and diarrheas. You are doing it for your own and your warranty is void now.

    How to install:
    1) Put rom and GApps on your sd card.
    2) Go to CWM (or other) Recovery.
    3) Do a nand backup.
    4) Do a full wipe (fist installation - coming from other rom) or just wipe cache/dalvik cache (update).
    5) Flash rom.
    6) Flash GApps.
    7) Reboot (first boot can take a while).

    How to enable TabletUI
    1) Open ROM Control and enable Navigation Bar, but don't reboot phone now.
    2) Change LCD Density to any lower than 171 (e.g. 165 / General UI).
    3) Reboot your phone.
    4) Wipe Google Play data.

    Note:
If you want go back to Phone UI just change LCD Density to any higher than 179.

a note about linaro (warning, tech mumbo jumbo ahead)
These builds do NOT include the new Linaro optimizations. The optimizations don't increase the speed of Android by 100%, nor do they inject butter. They use a newer toolchain to compile Android, which has more optimizations. The Linaro people have also made the proper changes in Android code to allow builds to be compiled with -O3 instead of -O2 flags (think of it as another pass of code optimizations).

Please do not ask us whether we will include them in the future. We like speed as much as the next guy, but we want to make sure that it doesn't break ANYTHING. When/if it's ready, you'll know.

    Enjoy!

Here we go again - AOKP for Vision is back ;)

There is no changelog for now, because it is initial and very eraly/nightly release. AOKP is based on Android 4.2.1.

So you are flashing it on your own responsibility - full wipe is required.

There could be some bugs. All things like calls, sms, mobile data, wifi, gps, camera (when using stock app there are stripes on picutres, but with 3rd party app pictrures are clean), camcorder, webkit etc should work.

    Thanks goes to:
