Could some tell me if you donate to the to the Nexus 7 toolkit, does it also allow you unlock the Galaxy nexus toolkit for updates as well?
I have the Verizon Galaxy Nexus running Atom 4.2.2 with AK kernel. I set up everything as it is suppose to be. Donated to get auto-update. Took forever to find the part to download to newest version. Closed out after that and downloaded the 4.2.2.zip and extracted to root of Toolkit folder. Asked if I wanted to overwrite 4 files and I said yes. Ran Toolkit again and when I got to the Build options I still don't see 4.2.2 in the list. The closest one is 4.1.2 for CDMA/LTE Verizon Model. Is the 4.2.2 suppose to show up in the build?
I do see my serial number. I don't see fastboot mode enabled which I assume I need to be in fastboot for anything to show up as list of devices attached?
Verozon has not released a 4.2 anything yet. . 4.1.2 is latest by verizon, that's why it is not listed. VZW will keep you behind as much as they can. They would rather sell you a phone than update your existing.
Actually think they have only released 4.1.1
So basically the 4.2.2.zip, provided by the dev, is a patch to help with Nexus running 4.2.2 ROMs?

The Atom rom is a custom rom based on 4.2.2 that is ported. I should have made it a little clearer. Verizon is the stock rom and latest is not 4.2. Many devs have ported roms from another carrier version other than verizon for the Nexus. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that.
I understand the Verizon Nexus isn't officially on 4.2.2. Even 4.2.1 and probably another update behind that one. My curiosity was about what exactly is that adb_fastboot_file_for_4.2.2.zip for?

So is donating the only way to get updates for this? I'm just a little confused, I understand the Donator version can auto update, but I'm just wondering how to manually update this toolkit?
I believe that is correct. If you donate, it subscribes you to the smaller updates he makes, which he can push to the already installed software as small updates very easily.
Every so often, he'll take all the previous updates and compile them into a new installer... but the work/time that's involved in those, makes it infeasible to do it for every little update.
It's quality coding work though... IMHO very worthy of donations. But thats just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
If you donate, he'll send you an activation code. When you enter the activation code, you then essentially "subscribe" to the smaller updates he pushes to a server. That is the only way to get updates using the update feature of this software.
Without donating to get access to this subscription, you just have to wait until he posts an updated version of the .exe file in the OP. The small updates he makes are often too small to be worth the effort of recompiling and uploading a large file. Whenever he gets time, he'll do this. Then you can download the new version as a fresh .exe file from the OP. The version you have now is the last one he compiled and posted.
But personally, it's well worth it to donate. The coding, as is, is awesome. The updates he makes are priceless.
If you lost your code, you can try PMing the OP.

ThanksAmazing thread! This thread would probably be really helpful for newbies
Just a few suggestions:
1.)You might want to include how to flash custom kernels
and also that you can
2.)Clockwork Recovery can be instealled through Rom Manager
Nonetheless, great thread
