To install MAGDLR, you have indeed to downgrade to an official HTC ROM 1.66, then use HSPL2_RUn.exe to set it to HSPL 2.08.
If you dont want to downgrade, than the only other option is to put an Android build on SD Card, f.i. one of the Froyo ones, based on HTC Desire

regards, Kuzibri

I have reading that Cotulla and his team working on a MAGLDR version to get wp7 and wm 6.5 possebilty.

Dear Artemis familiy,

I hope you can help me with an answer.

I really addicted to Twitter services. But sometimes my HTC HD2 Twitter tab does not show all tweets from my fellowers (~25).

So is there any update since Gen. III for Twitter Tab?

My dear friend, being addicted to Artemis is understandable and does not hurt, but being addicted to Twitter is very dangerous:D:D:D
Sorry, just joking, could not resist it!
Regarding your question: I do not know.

regards. Kuzibri

This problem has been mentioned several times since the release of V53. Question though in your case is: does this happen on the very same page (portrait does not work, landscape does)? It's known that on several pages, certainly with a lot of images, the double tap does not work in portrait mode. Therefore my question to you!

.......

I`m very glad you`re ok. Seems I left your country just in time – right before all the “events” started. And by the way my plane should have landed in Domodedovo in 8 minutes after the explosion..Luckily we were detain in Sharm`s airport. So I`m two times lucky).

Glad that you've enjoyed the shiny side of Egypt,
Now we're to have it forever-shiny.
You're a lucky guy, I know it Molann :D:D
Good to hear you're safe home,
welcome back on Artemis Thread friend :)

Hi M8s,

after flashing to v53.0, again I have trouble connecting to my e-mail-accounts (POP and IMAP) via 3G (v50 and v51 show the same prop).

Using WLAN I can download email from all my accounts.

Using 3G it only works once. When checking the mail account the 2nd time my phone ask me to check my internet connection and email settings.

Troubleshooting for now:
- switching Data Connection off and on I can check my mail again once. Checking 2nd time no go
- SR or HR doesn't solve the issue
- deleting provider settings and reinstalling doesn't help
- deleting mail account and reinstalling doesn't help
- Syncing mail with my exchange account works with WLAN and 3G
- Browsing works with WLAN and 3G
- all other programs using internet connection (Quick GPS, Google Map etc.) work with WLAN and 3G
- there is no proxy setting

It seems that some settings get lost deep inside the system after checking the mail account.

Any ideas are welcome.

Greetz & thnx, Cee.

My suggestion is
format your SD Card with ROM format tool
for test...

Sir Sternas,

it took it little while but finally I was able to test your suggestion.
Unfortunately this doesn't solve my prob.

Waiting for v54 and than I will start all over.

Thnx for your help and happy programming,
Cee

Hi Cee,

try the following, after having setup your email account, go to:
windows - settings - connections - connections - edit exisiting connection (f.i. T-Mobile or whichever) - choose edit in the lower left corner of the screen - then you will see the screen that tells you what connection you have - tap next - delete the name of the access point (after having written it down for future use) - tap next and tap finish. Soft reset and it should work.

Dear kuzibri,

again you're one of the helping hands.
But in this case your suggestion doesn't eliminate the error.

I think the best I can do now is to set up the whole device from scratch.
So I wait for v54 and look forward to another happy flashing this week end ;)

Thnx & greetz, Cee.

You're welcome my friend. Only very disappointed that this trick did not work for you, for me it always does. Maybe it's provider dependent.

Hi Cee,

i have searched to find a way to help you out untill V54 is released. One other thing I found that might help:
In your email account settings there is a certain window that asks for the outgoing (SMTP) server for POP3 mail accounts. Just underneath that there is a box that asks wether authentication is needed for this outgoing server. If this is checked in your account, uncheck that, go further to the end of the email settings and finish and then soft reset device. Maybe that will do it. On the other hand, if it is unchecked, just check/tick it. This is the weird behaviour of this setting, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, but maybe worth giving it a try. In my settings it's unchecked, but sometimes (depending on provider) you might just have to check it.

What best to use chteditor 1.8.5.1. or 2.0?

Hi, I use CHT 2.0 and never ever had any problems with it, specially when knowing that I am a business user with f.i. 1 exchange account and 5 other email boxes which are checked frequently and travelling a lot (many times in Russia these days).
Also CHT 2.0 gives you the opportunity to mod your lock screen: as on mine I can start immediately my foto camera app without to unlock my phone first so you can really make quick pics when needed.
I noticed no detectable speed difference and battery usage and it allows you a lot of more tweaks than using CHT 1.8.5.1.
See my lock screen here.

Regards,

Thanks a lot for your answer Kuzibri, even if it's not the one I wanted... but I thought so...
Anyway I like that Artemis ROM, so won't bother with that android think, unless a new MAGLDR pop out... or not ?? ;-)

Another trip from WP7 XBmod v1.02

Hi Artemis family,

I made another sideseeing trip to WP7, using the XBmod custom rom version.
The overall experience with this OS on our amazing HD2 is good.

Pro:
- Easy to use user experience
- Superb keyboard functionality
- Battery same behavior as for normal Artemis use
Cons:
- Very simple graphical presentation, boring!:D
- Closed system that does not allow us to make it our own
- If headphone plugged in, no microphone when calling
- No customised ringtone (at least not an easy way to do it)
- While setting all phone on vibrate only, still the alarm makes a sound
- It needs an activation code for which MS is needed to make the marketplace available.

It is an impressive piece of work to make our HD2 run the latest OS but...

I am currently waiting for v54.0 to jump back on the Artemis train. I am starting to get homesick being away from Artemis for a week now.

Some suggestions and questions:

@Sternas; any ideas on how to incorporate the WP7 keyboard behavior in the future Artemis releases? WP7 is much better than existing keyboard solutions for WM6.5

@Sternas; the battery app provided by v51 was resetting counters everytime the app is used. Can usage figures be captures using the 'charge event'? So calculate usage between unplug power and plug power time?

@Others; in the Sense interface only the last 25 SMS messages can be scrolled through. Is there a way to extend this amount? A tweak to change the 25?

@Others; the stock presentation of the home-screen shows the big digital clock and a one liner calendar. Is there a way without CHT to reduce clock-size and increase the calendar view on the homepage?

Regards,
A homesick Artemis addict!:D

Nokia changes to WP

Hello Sir. Sternas and others!

Mighty Nokia is jumping to Windows Phone. So maybe it's not so short life project from Microsoft after all. What do you guys think about that?

(sorry about this off topic)

Would you mind?

Sir Sternas,

I`d also like to ask you to try implementing a way to backup wifi\mail accounts.
For now I have to use third-party tool (Makisu from Sashimi - I`ve mentioned it many times already) - it produces an xml-file with quite simple structure and the is able to provision this setting back in the registry.

Dear molann!
As the winmo-experts site seems to be down, would you mind sharing a link to the Makisu cab-file? That would save a lot of work recreating all my mail-accounts...
Thank you, and have a great weekend!

Goldcard method - install Artemis v.4x - v.7x on your branded Leo (no HSPL needed)

I suggest using Artemis v.4x/v.5x/v.6x/v.7x ROM with HSPL4 (HSPL 3.03). So its not necessary to use the goldcard method.

If you want to use the goldcard method please move forward with my guide...

Cause many users ask me how to flash their operator branded Leo (aka HD2) with the goldcard method, I decided to write a short tutorial, which is a little bit different from the others in the forum.

The reason for this guide is that operator branded Leos (e. g. T-Mobile UK, Orange, etc. - see available 3.14 ROMs here!) don't work very well with the great Artemis v.4x/v.5x/v.6x/v.7x ROM until you haven't updated your Leo to SPL 3.03.0000 from 3.14 Stock ROM. Thes simplest way to use the necessary SPL version 3.03 is to flash HSPL4 (HSPL 3.03) on your Leo. Beside HSPL you can flash Artemis v.4x/v.5x/v.6x ROM (which is based on 3.14 ROM), until your operator has not published an official 3.14 ROM, with the goldcard method. With the goldcard method you are able to flash any 3.14 ROM (and older) without HSPL on your branded Leo. Attention: If you use Artemis v.4x/v.5x ROM in combination with HSPL2/3 you will notice some errors like low RAM etc.

If you have an unbranded (original HTC) Leo or your operator provide you a 3.14 ROM, you don't have to follow my guide. Please go directly to the nice Artemis flash tutorial by user scv http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=8776196&postcount=26465.

    What you need:

    1. microSD card (some users reported issues with microSD card size bigger than 8 GB - btw. I've used a 2 GB SanDisk microSD card)
    2. The "PSAS" Software: http://psas.revskills.de/?q=node/6 - (RevSkills 2.x free version)

Please read the following lines carefuly! Its important for your success to follow step by step!

    microSD card "flash" procedure:

    1. Download and install the PSAS free Version mentioned above: http://psas.revskills.de/?q=node/6
-- The goldcard generator you'll find on psas.revskills.de is for Android and Windows Phone 7 only!
    2. Backup all files from your microSD card you need later! Please remember that all files and settings from your Leo will lost due to the flash procedure!
    3. Format your microSD card with FAT32 file system.
-- In my experience it doesn't matter if you format it via card reader/Windows or via Leo.
    4. Input the microSD card in your Leo.
    5. Connect your Leo via USB with your PC and choose Active Sync on your Leo.
-- Make sure, that you have access to your Leo/microSD card via Windows Explorer!
    6. Open PSAS with administrative privileges and choose « Hardware Forensics » - « WINCE SD Card Utils ». Click on « Get Serial and Disk ID ».
    7. Notice which Hex-Code is written in the field « SD Card Serial » (CID) by choosing the right size of your microSD card by using the drop-down menu of the « SD Card Serial » field (mostly « Disk ID 07 »).
    8. You now can choose between the following:
      • Very often the CID is 9E000000400000000000020002000000. You can download the goldcard image file for this CID (9E0000004...) here: http://www.oliver-weidel.de/download/htc_goldcard/9E000000400000000000020002000000.zip. After download, please rename the file e. g. to "goldcard.img" (dont try to extract the ZIP-file!) and move forward to step 9.
      • If your CID is not 9E000000400000000000020002000000 than you have the choise:
        a) Buy PSAS licence (30 €) and create a goldcard image by yourself
        b) Write a nice private message to me with your CID ;)
    9. After you generate/receive your goldcard.img, in PSAS go to « Hardware Forensics » - « WINCE SD Card Utils » and click on « Get Serial and Disk ID » again. Choose your microSD card and click on « Write Image File ». Now choose your goldcard image and "flash" it on your microSD card.
-- If you got a message, that its not successful, than close PSAS, disconnect USB from your Leo and connect USB again. Start PSAS (as admin) and try again!
    10. Close PSAS and move forward to the Artemis flash tutorial by user scv: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=8776196&postcount=26465

Make sure that you insert your microSD card (goldcard) in your Leo during the flash of Stock ROM - at bullet point 4 in user scv tutorial!

    Questions and Answers:
    • "Is the goldcard method somehow effecting the device? Will I lose my guaranty if I have to send my HD2 back to repair?"
-- No, it doesn't alter the phone, it just bypasses the checks (thanks to user samsamuel). If you have to send it to repair, easily install any Stock ROM from your operator.
    • "HSPL can be removed, but is this really 'debranding' or just flashing on a still branded device?"
-- A goldcard is a microSD card with a special signature in the master boot record, which turns the region check off to flash the HTC device with any ROM. So, the goldcard only temporary disable the region check if the custom microSD card is present in the Leo during upgrade.
    • "Is it neccessary to do task29 anymore?"
-- Using the goldcard method (flash 3.14 HTC Stock ROM) before the SSPL flash (Artemis v.4x/v.5x/v.6x) is the perfect replacement for task29 as it erases every part of the ROM (tanks to user pcwe and Cuthy).
    • "Must the goldcard always be present in my Leo?"
-- No, the goldcard have only be inside your Leo during the flash procedere of the original HTC 3.14 Stock ROM.

Hope this tutorial will help some people. If you need further assistance, dont hesitate to post your problems in the forum.
