FYI,

I downloaded the RUU, extracted the rom.zip.. renamed to PB99IMG.zip.. updated my phone succesfully...

Hopefully the next OTA will work, if not, I will try this method again... or revert back to the branded version... (but probably not).

I refused the update, but the description was like: fixed minor bugs.
Something like that. And it was 4-5 MB if I remember well.

I just noticed this 4/5MB update - no one knows what it does yet?

I have read in another forum that there have been some fixes in Sense, especially speed improvements in contact list and calendar. Furthermore there has been a change in camera app with the selfshot option and some people say they can now record 720p videos with 30 fps in good light conditions with no "stutter" effect (dont know if this is for real, havent tried yet).

Just wondering, is this the same RUU (RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe) as in this update

hi my phones saying update available, i'm currently on 2.29.405.2 should i update or not, my phones unbranded

Yes you can, if your phone is unbranded and not debranded, you should not encounter any issues. I don't think it is a major update, probably fixes.

If the update is more than just the odd 4-5 MB in size, then it will be the same one contained in this RUU, which can be run manually from your PC.

Simply run it while your phone is connected via your PC via USB and make sure USB Debugging is enabled, HTC Sync is installed, run as Administrator, and temporarily disable your AV software for the update.
