As far as I can tell, there's little difference.
SD Cards simply aren't supposed to be written to very often. In fact they even have READ limitations too... but it's the writing that tends to kill them in the end.
They 'degrade' over time but the end user rarely gets to see the degradation, it's all handled within the SD card.
I've been fortunate, and I've yet to experience any issue at all with a 4GB SanDisk, and an 8GB Transcend, but a number of other users have had problems.
Some are saying it's "killed' their card, whilst other are saying they managed to recover by formatting the card. Whilst MOST are not having any problems at all.
There are just too many variables to know for sure what the issue is for sure. There could even be very minor hardware differences between one Blackstone and another.
I would say this much though...
a) Never install this on a card that 'matters' or alongside data that's important to you. You can do it, but if you lose it, then you have yourself to blame.
b) Don't 'rely' on XDAndroid. Some folks are claiming to use it all day. It's not stable enough for that sort of usage. WinMo is 10 times more stable and power efficient than XDAndroid. Real Android is quite good, but XDAndroid has a long way to go.
