so my S4 is completely stock 4.4.2 and my charging port is bad and Im wondering if theres a workaround for this to achieve root or install a custom recovery without the need of a usb cable. Any help would be appreciated.

Not so sure, you can check if mobile Odin can root your device. Out of curiosity how are you charging the device then?

i tried running mobile odin but it shuts down cuz my phone isnt rooted. im charging with an extra battery and dedicated wall charger.
whats wierd is that even if i can get my phone to connect on my pc. it just charges but doesnt show up in my device manager.

yeah ive tried a whole bunch of different ones. i think im screwed. no root or custom recovery.
