[Q&A]
This section hopefully addresses some common questions. Read this before posting any questions.

Before asking anything, clear cache and dalvik cache and see if it fixes the problem.

Browser unable to load anything despite 3G working? See here.

Q: Where is 3D gallery/video/gaming? How can I get it?
A: Never, until LG open-sources their proprietary Real3D framework. Now stop asking. Please?

Q: I don't want CM! I still want 3D!
A: Look elsewhere. There are great stock roms by ThiaiZ and The Dark Lestat as well as Meemo23 on this forum :)

Q: Must I wipe data? I have a lot of apps and data!
A: From experience, you must wipe when you install this rom for the first time. Afterwards, you can just wipe cache and dalvik cache and install the apps again. DO NOT restore Titanium backups since it will virtually leave your phone in the state it was before factory resetting.

Q: When I boot my phone, LauncherPro doesn't start/hangs/shows a black screen!
A: It is a well known problem with LauncherPro. Just press and hold the back button until a popup appears, then select "force close".

Q: I want to overclock :( Can I flash TitanKernel?
A: Flashing a stock kernel on CM will result in bootloops. Although overclocking is not needed for this rom since it's so fast and smooth already, you can use the overclockable modules here to overclock, and read the instructions there. Make sure you download the CM compatible modules and not the other modules.

Q: Do I need a task killer?
A: No! Task killers are not needed on a rom like this :) In fact, they can cause more problems than they solve...

Q: Where do I change the themes?
A: After installing the rom, go to the apps list and scroll down until you find Theme Chooser. From there, you can choose the corresponding theme you want. If it says that it is missing files, ignore it and apply the files anyway. Try Lucid and Vivid, they are exclusive to this rom only as they are paid themes on Play Store. However, Sonny (the developer of the themes) kindly allowed me to use his themes for free. Support Sonny by purchasing his themes here and here for your other phones :) Also, his ICS theme is included for you to mock those without ICS or its lookalikes :D

Q: Where do I get the LauncherPro themes for the themes?
A: The ICS and Lucid themes are already in the rom. There is no LauncherPro theme for Vivid if I'm not mistaken.

Q: How do I make my LauncherPro dock look like it came from ICS?
Download this and this. Extract the zip file to a folder your phone's sdcard. To set icons, long tap on the individual icons in the dock, select change icon, custom icon then browse to the correct icon. For the dock, tap the settings button in homescreen > preference > appearance settings > dock background > custom > [folder of icons] hhhha.png. If the icons do not appear, reboot your phone and it will appear. Done!

Q: Why is [app] not working?
A: Ask the developers of [app]. Only ask if it's root-related or is affected by busybox or something related to what I added in the rom.

Q: Can you include RTL support?
A: Try CM first. I have no idea if RTL is included as there are 3 Arabic languages in Languages so you tell me if it's included :)

Q: Why is xxx feature not working?
A: Don't ask me because I'm not the developer of CyanogenMod :) You can report functionality issues here. Examples of what should be reported to the CyanogenMod team would be call echoes, although they will not accept any reports of problems when you use this rom as they only want reports from stock CyanogenMod users. Only ask here if it's related to the tweaks I made.

hey pandaball, cant wait to try it out :D

ps: could you do something like this developer did, so make like a hybrid type cyanogemod http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1464986

Hi, I can try that over the weekend. However, the reason I based this on CM is because LG stock roms lag too badly :( Nonetheless, I will give it a try and see if there's a noticeable performance hit. If it isn't too bad, I'll put that up instead to get the best of both worlds :)

How is the battery behaving? Thanks.

On idle it drains pretty slowly, about 3% overnight. It lasts one and a half days or so
for me, ymmv depending on your usage.

wifi work only 5 min
Not a problem over here. I had it connected for 2 hours while finalising this rom.

Nice to see more people getting involved in the O3D world :D i will try your rom soon...

Thanks :D

Can you clarify which version of CM 7.2 you are using?

It sounds fickle but there's stable, release candidate, nightly etc. along with different but similar devices p920, p970, etc.

In p920 directory alone, today there is:
  • update-cm-7-20120410-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
  • update-cm-7-20120403-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
  • update-cm-7-20120402-NIGHTLY-p920-signed.zip
  • update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-p920-signed.zip
  • cm_p920_full-49.zip
  • cm_p920_full-48.zip

It makes a big difference if we are to then debug found issues, particularly with the famous ghost call/radio baseband issues. It is rumoured that the very latest CM7.2 for p920 fixes these.

Cheers
Leon

Ps. It may be handy too if you could also create a kitchen ROM version, so people can flash over the latest nightly CM7.2 ontop of your existing patch (or vice-versa)

Try reading the main post. Near the top.

As for the second part, for future updates there's no need to wipe data, just clearing cache and dalvik cache will do. You only need to wipe data for the first install.

If your already rooted do you still need the preperation kit?

Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA

The kit largely automates rooting, baseband flashing and CWM flashing. If you don't need any of it you can skip the preparation kit and install the rom straightaway.
