Nice setup! What are those toggles on the far right? You didn't specify on MCS.

---------- Post added at 07:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:53 AM ----------

This topic gets me quite frustrated. I've posted three styles already but nobody hasn't even bothered criticizing them or even commenting on them.
And then some guy gets 10 likes from adding couple of icons to an alright bacground. I understand that people like simple and I'm not hunting likes like Pokémon cards. I know I'm being a bit childish here, sorry. :(

I'd appreciate if you'd press thanks button if I helped you ^_^

I know exactly how you feel! Let me see if I can help out here. Yes, my "Antidote" screens are absurdly simple. Took me like 6 minutes to come up with them. Another 6 to decide to put them on top of a blurred version of the green mess I posted last week as a presentation. Big deal, right? Well, I am a regular here. And my usual work (which you can see if you click the DA logo on my signature) is quite the opposite of this last one. So people are commenting on that, and really, not that many. Even fewer folks had anything to say about the screens that took me days to work on last time.

Goldieking is right, this thread moves FAST. I mean, if you spend the next three days on some theraputic retreat in the mountains discussing your feelings or your love of cheese or whatever, you'll be about 50 pages behind. 500 posts, no joke. What I've found is that the people with the most unique ways of setting up their phones get noticed, and therefore, critiqued. And some folks have a particular style that is popular (not me) and get tons of comments. Some folks put together a nice looking screen, spending quality time on its fabrication, but then post some tiny thumbnail, or worse, a thumbnail that opens up to reveal...a giant thumbnail. Easily missed in a thread that moves so quickly.

When I first started, no one said BOO about my work. And I was all, "Well, I had better do something about THIS crap!" And I started working out my creativity. (insert musical montage of my creativity working out in the gym, running up and down the steps of the Capital, drinking raw eggs, secretly watching porn in the basement) When I first started doing this, I thought my screens were the bomb. But no one would confirm it. I thought they were all blind. I mean, just LOOK at the beauty of these!! How daaaaare they. :D

5677904959_2cccc6c958_b.jpg

I worked long and hard on this, thought it was a masterpiece. No feedback. Today, I look at it as a pretty unremarkable mess, regardless of the amount of work I put in on it. I knew then I'd have to step it up to get noticed. An Attention Whore Ignored was nothing I was interested in being. Today, I think I'm pretty good at this thing we do, and get some positive feedback when I share my work. We don't have "Likes" here, but I surely appreciate those that take a moment to tell me I did a good job, and "thank" them accordingly, making some friends in the process.

Not everyone can or will give feedback. 50 people could like a guy's (or girl's) layout and say so, but if I think it looks anything like an iPhone, I won't say a thing. I'll just sit here and scratch my head. But that's just me and my taste. Art is subjective. Mediocre and bad art is skimmed. Outstanding art is recognized. It's the way of things I think. I have to go to work now so I can't go digging for some of your entries to look at (because you didn't include a link to any of them here) and possibly comment on right now, but I will this weekend.

In the meantime, keep practicing, get wild, have fun, stand out, and be recognized! *thunder/lightning*

One of my own favourites I'll post it again in fact :)
No, not one of my favourites, my favourite.
It was also the first time I really got Super Wall Lite to work the way I had wanted, with each screen dissolving into the next with only the icons changing.
It was for me the next best thing to sliced bread.
So I guess one man's meat is another man's poison, m8 :D

And on MyColorscreen it received way less Views than some others I've done, and 3 likes :(
On DA it did even worse, with only two of my favourite critiques, OMH and melissa commenting.
Where were my usual commentors (names edited and removed)!!??? :D

Hopefully Reinbeau liked it because when she ignores me, I always feel like 'Ann' and less of a man :D :D

So Kond3P, join the club.
If you post your post numbers, I'll gladly offer some critique IMO :D

Hey now are you calling me out? :p
I commented in this thread about our house and I very seldom comment twice either one or the other (Here or on DA) because I lack the creativity to come up with two different comments about the same great set up. :D

Man Your PS skills never stop amazing me. This is just so original.

PS
How did you get a picture of my house are you stalking me. :p

See how fast this damn thread moves by the time I found my comment you edited my name out of your post :D

Comments/Thoughts?

I like it very materialistic.
Very basic, it has exactly what I need.

-Yes only one home screen-

Thanks tomtommy.

Like I said earlier, I think it was kinda popular here on XDA, but certainly didn't achieve the results of a 'minimalistic' effort.

The bottom line is that if you're good at Minimalistic stuff, your posts will enjoy (quite rightly so), a favourable response.

I just happen to suck at Minimalistic screens. Selavi! :D

I have attached the original image (not sure of the source, apologies to the creator)

Yeah, uh, sorry about the Greenery. I need to pay attention to my own instincts. I knew it had gone wrong and let it fly anyway. I feel like Willem Dafoe in To Live and Die in L.A., burning his paintings. Only I forgot to burn mine. :D

The shell of course is Desktop Visualizer which opens Folder Organizer, the usual stuff.

Found the wallpapers here: http://kotofot.ru/gdefon/kotofots/categories/priroda/ Amazing walls, much less than amazing pop-ups and -unders.

OMH and 'minimalism'. Whatever drugs they gave you at the hospital, get rid of them quick :D

Let's keep this thread going! :)

I'm curious to see what everyone's home screen looks like. How do you manage your Home Screen(s)? I'm curious as where people place things, what themes they use, what wallpapers, etc.

    Anyways, here are mine:
Left screen: for folders, media, and market app
Center: For most common apps, and a quick toggle app.
Right: Unused. Leaving open for when (more like if...) widgets are available.

Wow! 67K replies and 15.7M views!

I remember making this thread WAY back when the G1 was new. Back when modding Android was just beginning.
Stericson was the themeing master and was trying to learn from him, as you can see from my Red/Tool theme in the first post.
I was reminded of this thread today and came back shocked that it was still going strong.
I drifted out of the Android themeing community because of college and work loads, but it's okay, there are much more talented people than me working on these things now. :p

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the longest/most popular thread on xda, so let's keep it going :)

So back on topic: After my G1 days, I had a Galaxy S Vibrant, and I just got the Galaxy SIII yesterday, so forgive me for the bland layout.

I finally finished this homescreen... :victory:
It has been a long and tiring work because of the numerous details on which I have focused, 3D effects, shadows and depth .... but overall I am happy with the final result. :D

Nova Launcher - ZooperPro - MediaUtilities
    -Desktop grid size 6rows x 5columns
    -No dock
    -No width/height margins
-Top and bottom Zooper widgets size 3rows x 5columns

If you want to use my wallpaper it is included in the link, otherwise you can you use any grey backgroud for a better look.
This homescreen works fine also on a full screen device (I mean no navbar and no status bar) but I suggest you not to move or edit the map otherwise the location will not work properly, unless you know what you are doing... ;)

Credits to @King Rollo for the bottom icons (2five) :good:
