the automatic rotation does not work me in any rom based cm any solution please...
Thanks in advance for your time and attention :fingers-crossed:
Sadly I had to retire my Captivate Glide after 5 great years of loyal and dependable service. The old girl just up and froze on me, went into a never ending bootloop and continued to shut down. It was a fantastic device that never got the credit and attention I thought it deserved but those of us who used this as a daily driver knew better. For those of you who still have and use this device I hope you continue to enjoy the service that I did. Thanks for all the great advice and information ℹ received in this forum. It really helped me get all I could out of my Cappy and allowed me to enjoy it to its fullest.

I use mine as my car ipod. Didnt think about switching the buildprop, i have it on the same as u 4.0.4 rootedSo how many people are still using this phone I wonder? Mines been going strong, so far. On the stock Samsung 4.0.4 but fooled the play store with build prop into thinking it was 4.4.2. Working so far... Fingers crossed lol
I don't use the physical keyboard to an extreme amount, but to write a longer text or email it does come in handy!!
I honestly wasn't even sure it would work, it was a total stab in the dark. But it did! Between that and my folder mount things seem pretty good so far... Lol. I've also found a way to disable googles play services, by disabling the store unless I'm actually wanting to download updates haha.I use mine as my car ipod. --------------------------------------------@Bubor:You may want to install older rom, you must change assert tag in rom zip file META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script:
Code:assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "i927" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "i927" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGH-I927" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SGH-I927" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGH-I927R" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SGH-I927R" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGHI927" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SGHI927" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGHI927R" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SGHI927R" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "n1" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "n1" || abort("This package is for \"i927,SGH-I927,SGH-I927R,SGHI927,SGHI927R,n1\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\"."););
Wow! Many thanks, this really works! I've spent a lot of time with different firmwares to make it work but always used the latest version of Google Search downloaded form the Play Store.
Let me ask you one more thing, now with this working version of Google Search the Google Now Launcher won't work anymore, it wants me to update the Google Search from Play Store. Could you please share also the proper older version of Google Now Launcher which is compatible with this working Google Search?
Hi, this is my first post in i927 thread as I've become an owner of this device. I was trying to go through @bubor and @stormdude124 guides to first: upgrade to latest stock Android 4.0.4 version (I'm currently on 2.3.4) and second: to install CM11. But unfortunately my i927 is "NOT FOR SALE" test version, which has different baseband version (I927UCKG6) than mentioned here
Citation from above page:
Thus Kies doesn't propose any upgrade to 4.0.4.
Do you have any advice? Should I try to root 2.3.4 and then try to go Odin path or there are another solutions?
I hope the device doesn't differ from stock market devices. It doesn't have AT&T and Samsung branding, but in About section it clearly states that it's:
Samsung-SGH-I927
kernel: 2.6.36.3
baseband: I927UCKG6
build number: GINGERBREAD.eng.uno.kim.20110715.173205
Thanks

Edit: Is it important to upgrade to stock ICS 4.0.4 before installing TWRP or can I install TWRP having 2.3.4 onbard?
