Without using BT, I've had 2 hot reboots within 24 hours (flashed 0222 yesterday). Note that I am NOT complaining or whatever, but simply bringing the point forward. I know other devices running RootBox had some hot reboot issues, but since Bajee did not announce any fixes, I'm just going to wait patiently. FWIW, after the hot reboot occurs, if I check a Task Manager, I see that '/system/bin/gsiff_daemon' is spiking the CPU.

Also, further to the point that I am not trying to ***** and whine (I want to help ensure this ROM is 'hot-boot-free'), here's an excerpt from the last_kmsg that occurred when the hot reboot happened:

Starting kernel at 0x40008000...

SWITCH_SEL(1)

You'll notice that at the beginning, "<6>[14358.784667] c0 REBOOT Notifier for CPUFREQ //// <6>[14358.784714] c0 REBOOT Notifier for BUSFREQ" is shown, as I was OC'ing to 1920mhz, but I've lowered it since. What's also a bit strange is that when set to 1920mhz, SetCPU reports that the device runs at 1900mhz. I know it's a new kernel, so again, just wanted to report my findings.

To end, THANK YOU JOHN AND BAJEE!!! I know I've brought up some issues, but I always do my best to provide whatever info I can rather than just blindly complain. I know this thread is aimed towards Development of RootBox, and I'm hoping that I am able to help provide decent debugging info at the least ;)

^ If you are getting reboots due to OC'n an unstable clock, have you checked to see if you are getting hot reboots while running stock clocks?

This is exactly what posts in here should look like. Much appreciated!

^ If you are getting reboots due to OC'n an unstable clock, have you checked to see if you are getting hot reboots while running stock clocks?

I did say that while I was OC'ed, I was going to lower the clock, when I should have just said I was going back to stock speed. I've done so, however lowering back to 1600mhz in SetCPU would not change the 'live' clock rate until I rebooted (few hours ago). Just now, I experienced another hot reboot while I was tinkering around in Tasker (i.e. they still appear to be random, as I have not been able to reproduce it). I had also already performed a full-wipe for the 0222 nightly.

The reboot above happened at 1600mhz, with the default scheduler (row)/governor (pegasusq). I then checked the 'last_kmsg' which had an updated(/current) timestamp, however it showed the same exact trace, so no need to post it again. Again, I know it's a new kernel, so just trying to report on that, but I don't quite feel that the hot restart issues are related to the kernel/clock rates (users reported hot restarts with the Bullet kernel a few versions back).

Re: [ROM][4.2.2][AOKP/CM] Official Vanilla RootBox [02/22][v3.7.1][Per-App-DPI][PIE]

I want to help figure out what my issue is with this ROM. There is a countless number of times where I simply lose service on my phone and it just floats right back eventually. Its very frustrating and I had the problem a little bit on CleanROM but not much. I'm thinking I might need to get a warranty replacement as its a factory defect. But I want to be sure. How can I log this to share with you what issue I might be having?

If it's happening on stock based ROMs too then it's sounding like a hardware issue.

Re: [ROM][4.2.2][AOKP/CM] Official Vanilla RootBox [02/22][v3.7.1][Per-App-DPI][PIE]

I had a few hot reboots on the stock TW before I flashed to cm and later rootbox. I still see them occasionally on rootbox, but just brush it off as a minor convenience (thankfully I haven't had a reboot while on an important call).

Even so, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that hot reboots are a hardware issue... From the logs I have seen (e.g. above), something in software (although possibly triggered by hardware component's firmware) still looks responsible.

Assuming this is coming in the next build? Awesome! Thank you!

Just wanted to share that Lookout Security for some reason alerts that the 2/22 zip is not secure and contains something they call "Exploit.Android.ExynosAbuse.a". I'm sure it's just them being over-cautious, but just wanted to share in case it's of interest for the devs in charge.

As for me, I installed this version and am enjoying its smoothness a lot :)

Assuming this is coming in the next build? Awesome! Thank you!

Most scanners will flag unknown-sources installed from outside of the Play Store. it's a hit and miss debate.
nice little article over on/at AC

previously *hide status bar.... (didnt say lockscreen)
more clearly now, you meant "*...on lockscreen"
haven't tried it, but yea, probably would hide it all the time.
sorry.... moving on... good luck for a request :)

Is the kernel compatible with this rom? I don't think so. :c Is there another kernel I might be able to flash?

As aosp based, I think both sabre and force kernel should work. I haven't tried either of them though.

    Description

Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

I just spoke with bajee, I told him yesterday that I was going to need a 1-2 days break so he added the device to the building bot, while you guys are free to use which ever builds you want, mine are built with PUB while his are not.

I will still continue making builds, I just want to be able to enjoy my phone as well.
