Thats not right, of course. It seems that the subsequent touch isn't reported as multitouch (MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER) but starts a new single-touch (MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN). This is bad!

It seems that all AOSP-based ICS builds have this issue. Or can anybody report success with an AOSP-based ICS build? My guess would be that Samsung added some workaround in their ICS build for Wacom driver bugs. Fun fact: the leaked Samsung rom doesn't properly report SOURCE_STYLUS as per the ICS stylus api.

Anyway to fix it?
That's the most annoying thing for me right now. I'm using ics stunner v4.1 . but in midnote 2.0 , it works fine.

Same here, so I think all AOSP based roms like imilka and ICS Stunner, except for midnote , have this issue ?

Thanks for making me buy it :D

DUDE. This is the best ever. I used it for literally 30 seconds and said to myself,

"This guy is a gentleman and a scholar. He's so baller that he gives it away and open-sourced it. I HAVE to buy it now, because it's amazing."

EXCELLENT work. Love love love love it. This is why I bought my note.

This is a really nicely written app. It's working on my AT&T Note with the ICS leak. I think this just became my new note-taking app.

Thanks for sharing!

Haven't tried the free version. Just wanted to support developer and tried to buy the app from the play store but get the message that device not supported. I have got a stock note from Amazon.De in the UK.

Great app in Note running rom CM9

But Palm Detection is still broken.

I tried this app , in my opinion way way better than this one.

With all my respect, Quill is great
But personally i like this one better.

Its matter of time, somebody port SMemo to work on AOSP/AOKP.
It has much better Palm detection and also it dose not exit even touching the touch buttons !!

thnx.

It's funny - The majority of the paid apps I have are ones given away for free on XDA.

This is now one of them. I needed something to test pen functionality in CM9 on the Note, and this was the first app I could find that used the standard Android stylus APIs.

It worked, I saw this thread, I bought. :)

Layers?

Quill does have the best inking for the Note that I've tried. You have to get a LOT of "ink" on the page before it slows down. My request is to add a layer or two, perhaps an opacity control. Then I could use it for illustrations. There is no vector app with these options that I can find.

Galaxy Note 2 ii Tmobile ...VLAK8 Rooted Deodexed Rom Quill 10.5 No Pen Support

I'm on Galaxy Note 2 ii Tmobile (T889) ...VLAK8 (4.1.1) Rooted Deodexed Rom Quill 10.5 No Stylus Pen Support for SPen? My Input Preferences are still grayed out.

Under :

Pen input mode
"Tablet has no hardware support for pen"

same for Double tap while writing, Move gesture while writing, and Lock zoom during move gesture

Am I doing something wrong?

other featuers

Oh, forgot to say thanks for the app. New here.

I also noticed that there is no selection tool? I don't know it my be cool, select the strokes and then click drag resize and rotate etc. I +1 for layers and opacity.

Uhm, so I am right that Quill 10.5 doesn't recognize the SPen on the Note 2?

Thanks again

THANK YOU!

This is the best pen writing app I've found by Faaaaaaaaaaar! thank you! it's so smartly designed. I've been using it to write and story board a web series and I can't imagine writing it any other way now.

One question:
Is there a limit to the number of pages that can be in each notebook? I'm coming near 300 pages in the notebook I'm writing in and don't want to get to a place where it starts crashing. (I'm using the galaxy note 10.1)

I have a few feature requests that would be great to see in the future:

1. draw to select and copy and paste
2. color picker for the color squares
3. reorder pages
4. an option to consolidate all the tools, colors, etc. in the red button into the top bar
5. copy pages between notebooks
6. A Quill Notebook viewer for the desktop

I'd be happy to pay again for version 2.0! And again thanks for this great app, you've definitely proven steve jobs wrong. He thought stylus' had no place in the future of tablets, but your app proves stylus's are the future of tablets!

    Handwriting note-taking app for Android

I just added support for the Galaxy Note pen to Quill, so you can write without having to worry about your hand touching the screen. I have tested it with Chainfire's ICS repack and !TeamRocketRom v1.5. If you decide to give it a try and it doesn't work on your ROM please let me know!

Quill requires ICS or Honeycomb, so if you haven't upgraded your Galaxy Note from Gingerbread it will not work!

A key design goal is quick response to pen strokes and 100% vector graphics. Developed on a Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet.

    Features

    • Active pen (digitizer) support on ThinkPad Tablet, HTC Jetstream, HTC Flyer, and Galaxy Note.
    • Very fast response to pen strokes.
    • "Fountain pen" mode supports pen pressure data, more pressure = thicker line.
    • Pinch-to-zoom.
    • Double-finger tap to zoom.
    • Two-finger move gesture.
    • Pen strokes are vector art, zoom does not pixelate your writing.
    • "Pen only" mode (optional) disables touch input while writing.
    • Android 3.x hardware accelerated graphics.
    • Open source (GPL), so your notes are not stuck in an opaque file format.
    • PDF export (save to SD card, Evernote, Share).
    • PNG (raster image) export.
    • Can backup/restore your data.
    • Ruled/Quad background paper
    • Tagging for pages so you can group them together.
    • Switch between multiple notebooks.
    • Undo/redo.

The n-trig active pen has been tested on the ThinkPad Tablet, HTC Jetstream, and the HTC Flyer (Honeycomb). The Samsung S-pen has been tested on the Galaxy Note. The basic functionality should work on any Android tablet, but distinguishing pen from finger data and pressure sensitivity might not work on others. Please let me know your results if you try it on another tablet. See also the supported devices wiki.

You can also get the app for free (as in free speech) at http://code.google.com/p/android-quill. Also available on the Android Market.

In both cases, when trying to install, I got an error that said Unable to Parse Package. I don't know what that means, but it won't install.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, Quill requires Android v3+ (Ice Cream Sandwich on Honeycomb). I assume you are still on Gingerbread, right? I've edited the first post to avoid confusion.
