Here are the latest Android Builds for the HTC HD2, please read the entire first post for rules and the latest builds! Also this thread is getting pretty big so please USE THE SEARCH FEATURE TO FIND ANSWERS to questions and avoid flaming which just wastes space the thread. This is a discussion thread but please don't ask questions or post problems that have already been asked and answered previously!

For what is currently working please check:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=719646

Watch the IRC HTC-Linux channel for an up to the minute update on the port. (DO NOT ENTER IRC CHAT ON THIS CHANNEL AS IT IS ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS!):

http://irclog.netripper.com/?chan=htc-linux

ALL Q&A ARE FOR "HTC-LINUX-CHAT" ONLY! PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY QUESTIONS IN THE "HTC-LINUX" CHANNEL! (Please note, I have not posted a link for the IRC chat client as most answers can be found by SEARCHING XDA and developers already know about almost every problem! THIS IS NOT A FINISHED PORT SO DON'T EXPECT MIRACLES! What is currently working is listed below and on the Leo status page!)

Here is the current Leo Linux Port Status Page: http://www.htc-linux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Leo/Status

All the latest zimages with the latest features can be found here: http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Android/

The builds are as follows:

NOTE: All current builds (with the latest zimage) support GSM, Calling, Data, HW3D, Sound, G-sensor, Compass, Proximity Sensor, Battery status, Backlight, Partial charging support, Headset, Bluetooth, WIFI, FM Radio (with appropriate App) and Camera.

Nexus One Based Android 2.1 by Cotulla and Parad0XUA, working silky smooth with HW3D, sound, GSM, 3G, Data, Wifi and Bluetooth now working (for new features use latest zimage).

  • Calls both incoming and outgoing work, texting works fine.
  • HW3D, sound, GSM, 3G, Data, Wifi and Bluetooth now working in this build!
  • Data is problamatic as some large packets cannot be sent or recieved so Data is cosidered only half working at the moment, However you can get to Google! :D

Here is the link:http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Cotulla_LEO_Android21_HW3D_BT_WLAN_DATA.rar

Thanks goes to Cotulla for making this build so functional and getting a lot of our drivers working.

Android 2.1 with Desire's Sense UI, it is working smoothly as can be for the moment and without any bsod for the most part! It is not completely bug free but is pretty stable, (for new features use latest zimage).

  • Calls both incoming and outgoing work, texting works fine.
  • HW3D, sound, GSM and Data are now working in this build!
  • Data is problamatic as some large packets cannot be sent or recieved so Data is cosidered only half working at the moment, However you can get to Google! :D

Current Version HTC Sense (HTC Desire base rom) v5 which makes sense very smooth and has HW3D and sound aswell as Data, WIFI, Bluetooth, Camera and GSM support.

On Darkstone's mirror (New Desire based Beta Build available): http://gamesquare.co.uk/desire.html

Thanks to Darkstone and the HTC-Linux devs for making this possible.

Here is a video review by Pocketnow.com of the Desire V5 ROM: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyglmQmv3uU

Here is an old video of Sense build V3.5 being used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbspZtrA6p0&

OLD BUILDS:

Android 2.1 with stock android interface. Based on XDANDROID. Has GSM is working although no data and mic and speaker don't work so calling is not really usable. It's also pretty stable.

Here is the link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z2KYV9OF

Thanks to dan1j3l amd the HTC-Linux devs for making this possible.

There is also a build based on a Nexus One image which has working g-sensor, compass, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor over at http://gamesquare.co.uk/, please also check there for the latest builds as they come.

Once again thanks to all the devs on the project. I will try to update this page as often as possible with new builds as they come so please be patient, AND DO NOT SPAM THE HTC-LINUX CHANNEL!

Note: Here is something everyone considering an iPhone 4, or anyone who hates it should see!

I've just been to the O2 shop to see what all the fuss is about the iPhone 4's screen and apart from it's size I noticed a major floor that all 4 iPhone 4's had in the shop. Their screens had marks on them that looked like burns or pressure marks. Seeing that really made me very happy as not only do I have a bigger screen, I have a better one on my HD2, anyone wanting to look at what I mean look here: http://s872.photobucket.com/albums/ab289/microang/iPhone 4 Bad Screen/ :D:D;)

great thread, can you put the date of the upload next to the link so we know when it's updated?

i also uploaded a video of the sense version running till bsod on my youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0Gy_OtZmIs

I ended up back on the XDandroid version because there are just too many errors on the Sense rom and the lag on the live wallpaper was annoying

The new video should be up before Saturday, Just got home from the beach, and still have alot of other videos to work with. If yall are fine with iPhone 3GS video then I'll make one soon. If not, then just give me couple days, maybe by then, we'll have a better kernal and Android Build.

FYI I would put a big disclaimer that there are still alpha quality. Some people have had to hard reset to get winmo back the way it was -- though tbh I'm not sure what builds they were running.

It's not that winmo didn't work, it just had some strange functionality afterwards.

Yeah, broken Sense seems to be an issue with these builds with some users, unfortunately.

    2 options for preventive measures:

    - disable sense and run haret imediately after restart
    or
    - install dual-boot app (my choice :;)

I have finaly got froyo on my HD2...here the link and is working.
    http://www.sendspace.com/file/yvzt3a

Issues: pressing the power button is getting my unit in a black screen mode and the only way is to remove the battery.
Second: phone (no dial ton), camera (camera is not starting, just black screen) and battery (battery is not charging).

    cheers

desirebuild_v5 went to a black screen during sleep, but would not recover after i upgraded to Cotulla_zImage_PANEL_ON_OFF_ON_OFF_OFF_GSOD. I could tell the OS was still running just fine, but the screen would not wake. I had to pull the battery.

My wake-up required two presses of the power button instead of one. Other than that, it woke up just fine. Go figure.
