You can extract the boot.img file from the zip and flash via fastboot or flash_image binary. Wipe of cache and dalvik, of course.

What is the benefit of doing it this way? To flash this kernel on a different ROM?

(Not argumentative, just curious)

I want to return to stock kernel to compare with the new kernels that have been coming out. Also, had a problem where my second core would be off entirely. Wanted to isolate the problem.

The second core is maintained off only when not needed.
1° core is working for normal operations. 2° core is used when more load is requested to the phone.
I tested myself and monitored with System Tuner Pro. This app is even capable to let you to force the 2° core to be active.
One core @ 384 - 1512 MHz ondemand + 2° core activated when really needed is far better to have 2 cores active at the same time @ say 384 - 756 MHz (756*2cores=1512). System become very fast but too much time freeze for some seconds. Anyway is laggy and unusable.

Kernel and its modules are thinked and compiled to work with cpus activated in sequences.

You can always try a different road, like recompile it from git and set up its config in order to put the kernel in condition to work in SMP mode with 2 cores.

Let me begin by saying i love this rom when i am not having one problem (next) my battery life is great.

Every once in a while i see my phone is staying awake alot, if you see the picture, i am not using the phone no gps, i have tried to look in system panel lite and i do not see anything that is keeping it awake. what can i do to find out whats keeping the phone awake

In 6.5 hours my battery went from 100% to 56%, my phone had been awake continuously for the last 3.5 hours, installed betterbatterystats (app like spare parts). it tells me that the LocationManagerService was keeping my phone awake.

Same thing like here http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=443

Thanks

only 20% of batt in almost 4h "and" calling is good in my opinion. the 80% of that 20% of batt is consumed by your phone calls. Anyway, switch off bluetooth if you dont use it.

By flashing this:
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1363882

and using this command for activating the audio dsp:

http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=23103007&postcount=2226 <-- (Edited)

*and* using a good pair of headset, you can enjoy the great effects.

I think you did not removed all related HTC stuffs like HTCListen.apk!! (luckily!! since patches above, i.e., are not working on a CM9 kanged rom :)) see the attachment.

I hope you will not remove those apk. Music enhanchements will not be possible anymore.

Thanks for this. The difference is very noticeable. Was wondering if you use an init.d script to activate or if you reenter manually after each boot? I tried making an init.d script but am doing something wrong because it doesn't activate. I'm not very good with scripts so if you have one would you share?

Normally use Better Terminal Emulator Pro: it retain the history of given commands. But you can use easily GScriptLite. Very easy to configure and use, despite after do the memorized commands it will FC... but it works.

Yes, i enter the command each time i reboot. I'll try to insert the command inside init.d. Good idea.

Thanks but I was looking for something that runs automatically at boot.

Edit: If you get it to work that way please let me know the code.

20 Hours on 1 Charge....Amazing

My friend squeezed 20 hours off of one charge. She thanks me everyday for flashing your ROM Kris but I always let her know that it's "Your" hard work and dedication that makes this possible along with all the other great developers. I'm going to get her to donate As Soon As Possible.

S/N: I need a job.

Dear All,

It is with a very sad heart that I am writing this message.

It has been an excellent few months now with a great crowd here at XDA and I have grown very attached.

But life is changing, and so are the circumstances. I will be moving to a new company, a new job, but most of all, even a new country. Hence I can not keep maintaining the XDA threads, the ROM, or even cooking/devving.

I say goodbye to all of you now, and if anyone wants to continue what I have started, please PM me.

All the best, and keep up the teamwork which is exceptionally great here at XDA,

Kristof

23rd March 2012 - Message from the developer here

I believe that our Sensation can do a lot more / be a lot faster / and therefore we can be more productive than with the Sense ROMs.

CM7 for the Sensation is not there yet, so without further ado, I present a ROM with Sense, but with everything working that is needed (excellent Camera, SD card speeds just fine, etc)

I also like to customize my own apps in a given ROM, so any simple/minimalistic ROM is a plus for me.

I therefore present to all who like this approach my very own HyperNonSense ROM release, built from scratch by me.

    - Download links, changelog and addons and extras in post #2
    - Extras and other links (ie. kernel, addons, etc) in post#3
    - FAQ and themes in post #4

    What you get:
    - Simple, minimalistic ROM to be a good base for your everyday needs (those who like every app to be in there "out-of-the-box" should steer clear)
    - Tweaks to make battery life even better
    - Tweaks for the camera to take pictures without compression
    - Always updated base to keep your flashing appetite full :)

    Credits:
    - thanks to kevin here at XDA for Nova Launcher
    - thanks to capychimp for the APM
    - thanks to Schnizlon for the ICS AOSP theme and tweaks
    - thanks to nitr8 and insanity ROM (SGS2) for the ideas and a couple of icons/theme images
    - thanks to ljankok for the friendship in cooking
    - thanks to crypted for the AGPS patch
    - thanks to Splder for the theme!!!

    ROM Releases

    1. When you are finished setting up the device, do a normal reboot and then you will have normal operations!
    3. I have deleted a number of apps so that the ROM can be as lean and minimalistic as possible. If you find you need any apps that I have deleted, go to post #3 (Addons and Extras) and you will most likely find the app you need there! :)
