What relation does this have to the real VLC? Is this not just some media player that can play many different codecs?

I will publish a version compatible Tegra 2 in a couple of minutes.

It is VLC.

Does it play files off the LAN (like BSPlayer does)?

No, currently only media playing features are being ported.

If you built this for Google TV, and allowed DTS decoding (Logitech doesn't support DTS), then I would love you forever! Otherwise this looks promising!

DTS is missing from sources (WIP) along with MPEG-2 and Theora.

My device is running a non-official build of ICS based on CM9 and my phone is G2X.

After installing VLC, I see the message that it is alpha software. I checked "Do not show me this message again then it crashes. Now, it crashes right away when I run it. :(

I downloaded the Cortex-A9 version and installed on my Toshiba Thrive (it's a Tegra 2, running Honeycomb 3.2.1), but no joy. Just kicks me back to home as soon as I click "OK" on the "This is an early alpha version" message. The Cortex-A8 version works great on my Nook Color in ICS OCed to 1.2ghz (have yet to try in GB). I gave it a shot on my Droid Pro (also the Cortex-A8 build), and it seems fine there too.

I'll follow the thread here and see if I can break it with some different formats. Thanks much for the effort to port this.

The Cortex A8 version works great on my HTC Sensation 4G. Great work. Thanks for getting this project compiled for Android.

Updated. I also added a link to provide access to previous releases. :)

The ARM11 (ARMv6) APK you have there wasn't working, so I built it myself and thought I'd share: Rapidshare, Mediafire.

Tested on my Republic Wireless Optimus S (LG LS670 AOSP 2.3.5/CM7).

Wut? How are you violating copyright? Weren't vlc under gpl2?

No but I got a "false-positive" notification from an anti-piracy routine check, since my work has been reposted on tons of websites and hosters like Mediafire are watched by the majors...

Well you're doing a great job. I replaced VLC as my main media player over MX Player and Player Pro.

Thanks, I will recompile soon with new fixes. :)
