These are the steps I used to set up my Nook Tablet and get it set up the way I wanted it. I have tweaked it even more but this is how I got to where I am now. I hope this collection of links to information may help others be as happy with their Nooks as I am with mine.

I am happy to have access to the Amazon ecosystem including buying apps from their app store and watching Amazon's instant streaming video as well as the Google Market and B&N Store. All this with the ability to access Netflix's HD content, an MicroSD slot, beautiful screen, sufficient processor & RAM leads me to feel that this is the best tablet for the money on the market today.

I would like to also thank Indirect, anlog, Loglud, gojimi, romified, t-r-i-c-k, robertely, Brad Linder and all of the other developers and XDA members that have worked on Nook tweaks and/or shared information for the benefit of others.

Just to be clear, I am nobody, I haven't created or worked on anything. I just mined all of this information for my own benefit and I thought I would post a copy of what I have found in a single post for those that follow. All of the credit should go to the people who created the posts that I am linking to.

150pilot, I'm rooted as well, and have many of the same apps that you are running. But for the life of me I cannot get the Amazon Video APK installed. Would you be able to detail out exactly how you got this to install and run?

On an unrooted tablet (not sure if it makes a difference), I just downloaded the APK and ran it like the others. Installed and ran without issue.

This is what I did & it worked for me.

1. Download & install the Amazon .apk from the link.
2. Download & install OTA Rootkeeper from the Market.
3. Run OTA Rootkeeper to temporarily unroot.
4. Run Amazon Video.
5. Click on a video to rent & a request to login will pop up.
6. Log in with your Amazon account info.
7. That is it, now just use the service as you'd expect.

Good Luck.

I'm pretty sure that's what I did too, but I'll try it again.

I've been saying this a lot, but swipepad turns this into a different device. I find it so much more useable now. Thanks for pulling this info together. Thanks button pressed.

This is what I did & it worked for me.

1. Download & install the Amazon .apk from the link.

Done. I hit "DONE" instead of "OPEN" when the package installation was complete.

2. Download & install OTA Rootkeeper from the Market.

Good here since it was already installed.

3. Run OTA Rootkeeper to temporarily unroot.

Done.

4. Run Amazon Video.

And here's the problem. I have no icon in my GoLauncer Apps area that I could even identify as the Amazon Video app!

I think I had to reboot but I have a green & white icon called Amazon Video in my app drawer which I've pulled out onto a homepage. Do you see Amazon Video in Settings under "Manage Applications"?

Does anybody have a link to the SWIPEPAD apk file by any chance? Unfortunately I am only side-loading, hence my problem getting it via the traditional market.

I really have tried to get this a number of ways, and in a number of locations, but have kind of hit a roadblock! What's ironic is that it would have been quicker for me to ROOT my device and load it via google, rather than waste the time I put into trying to side-load it LOL!!!
