Yes. Or this link provided by invisiblek will restore the latest firmware (Boxes with Updated sticker) : http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/...535VZWALG1_743127_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.zip

Thanks, just one more question. My file is tar.md5
Do I rename it to .tar is it right as it is

Also the link in the OP takes me to download (Samsung-Updates.com-GT-I8530_XEF_1_20120614154832_nv1pfwdaeb) is this I535VRALF2 as well?

Remove the md5 extension and in Odin in the PDA section point it to that .tar file..

OP's link pointing to the wrong file?

I noticed the link in the OP directs you to:
http://samsung-updates.com/get/2114/Samsung_Firmware_SCH-I535_VZW_I535VRALF2_Android_4_0_4.html which has SCH-I535 in the URL but the file you download is:
http://samsung-updates.com/fw/Samsung-Updates.com-GT-I8530_XEF_1_20120614154832_nv1pfwdaeb.zip GT-I8530 aka Galaxy Beam

but if you go to the Samsung-Updates.com main page and select SCH-I535 you ultimately get directed to a similar URL:
http://samsung-updates.com/get/1074/Samsung_Firmware_SCH-I535_VZW_I535VRALF2_Android_4_0_4.html which has SCH-I535 in the URL as well and will download:
http://samsung-updates.com/fw/Samsung-Updates.com-SCH-I535_VZW_1_20120705143513_fti2qg2lmf.zip SCH-I535 aka Verizon Galaxy S3

You will notice that the download page URLs are slightly different "2114" vs "1074" and I suspect that you don't want to flash the GT-I8530 file which is for the Galaxy Beam to your Verizon Galaxy S3.

EDIT: I emailed the folks over at Samsung-update.com about this but I am not sure that I conveyed the issue across successfully.
EDIT2: Got a reply today from Samsung-update.com and said they will fix the issue with the links in a couple of days.

Thanks you've been of great help

you dont have to remove the md5 extension...put the extracted .tar file in the pda slot of odin and flash away!

The torrent link seems to be a dead link, I'm getting a 404.

try the links in my guide!

Folks I recomend staying away from the links in the op!! Somehow those files are not for our device...If you need stock files, check my guide out. A member here was kind oenough to host them for us ;)

If I were to install a custom ROM and then flash back to stock if something goes wrong and I need to return the phone, would Verizon know about it? I only ask because I'd like to use JB, but the vibration and haptic feedback stopped working on my original phone and I had to send it back for a "like-new" replacement. If something like that happened again and I had to send it back, I'd like to make sure that they couldn't tell the difference and claim I've voided the warranty...

Yes you can, just flash back factory stock and do a factory wipe.
