yes, if you know how to use APKTool or APK Manage (essentially the same). i could post the two source file xmls which call the images in, but it would be pointless if you don't know how to decompile/recompile apks correctly. it's not rocket science but i imagine it could be difficult for some.

Really cool initiative! I don't mean to cause you alot of work, but would it be possible to make MetaMorph files for the battery mods? I have done so with the Softkeys you can find in my signature, and it's making the process of installing these kinds of mods alot easier! You can of course copy the installation instructions from my thread if you want to :)

Could you possible make me a CM style battery mod with the percentages from androidusers neopolitian 2.2 rom. Ill upload the system ui apk if you don't mind. I know his rom has customize able toggles in it,thanks

Here is my system ui. If anyone could create a CM style battery mod with the percentages that would be awesome. This is androiduser 2.2 rom with the customize able toggles in the drop down. Thanks

yep! i made it a light gray to match the AOKP but i can certainly do a white version. i still have all of the psd's. i'll get to this as soon as i have a chance.

So I have never done anything with apk's or anything...where is the systemui.apk? On the phone's rom that is already installed or in the zip file of the rom before its installed? I searched in both (with root explorer) and cant find "that" file. I thought I did find the right file, aokp_toro_build-14.zip\system\framework\framework-res.apk. then open that with winrar and go to framework-res.apk\res\drawable-xhdpi. Extract that folder and then put the files in there? Now what? I copied that "new" folder back to the apk. Now can i flash that apk? am I WAY off? Id love to be able to learn and do this myself so I can change the bat icons myself now with this great thread!

SystemUI.apk should be located in /system/app/

Thanks! Well what do you know...there she is. huh. So i can take that file off the phone, do the file copy with winrar and then put it back on the phone and just...restart it? Its just that easy?

:EDIT: Whow, I just watched some video (was a great video) on how to decompile an apk. If I have to do all that, I think Im way in over my head!

if your SystemUI.apk already has batteries 0-100, no decompiling is required. just replace the battery images.

Thanks, but I think Im giving up. So I found the systemui.apk on my phone (running aokp rom) and when i copied it to the sdcard, it would never show up on my computer, but i can see it on the phone. So I extracted the files, all using root explorer (bc I couldnt just copy paste them into the apk file). Then I pasted the files into the folder...and rezip it? Thanks for the help but sometimes, we have to know our place in life. and this isnt mine! lol

I can make the MetaMorph files...who's interested in using those instead of modifying the apk each time? If there is enough interest I can start them tonight, I have created a bunch for the soft key thread :)

    hello lads of xda :)
    i've decided that it was necessary for a battery mod collection thread because quite a few are scattered throughout several different forums and threads. my hope is to make a one stop place for them all to be found and used. this will be a work in progress while i collect them.

    *note
    none of the zips contained within this thread are flashable. to install, you must pull your own SystemUI.apk from your current ROM and place the images within res\drawable-xhdpi\. if you are unable to do this, upon request, i may be willing to make a flashable for you specifically if you attach your current SystemUI.apk. your provided SystemUI.apk must already support battery percentage increments of 0-100. i am unable to decompile and add that in for you because i would have no way of testing to make sure it works correctly (i can't load everyone's different ROM just to test one apk, this would be too time consuming).
    also, please keep in mind that all previews are at full res. in other words, images *should* appear sharper on your phone.

    YOU CAN HELP, TOO!
    you can help this thread grow and be more productive by pointing me to battery mods i may have missed. just PM me a link or post it here and i'll take care of the rest ;)

    These are the same MODs in MetaMorph packs...they are named the same as the original, so they should be easy to find the ones you want/need

    it does if you're wanting images 0-100 to show up. the SystemUI.apk calls these images in via xml. if the xml only supports 0,15,28,43,57,71,85,100 (a stock SystemUI.apk), and you throw images in that go from 0-100, that SystemUI.apk is still only going to call in those 8 numbers, skipping over the other images. for example, when your battery is at 50%, it's going to show an image in reference to 57. so a battery sitting at 50% but displaying an image that says it's at 57% is inaccurate haha. hope that makes sense.

    Yes I know. But I've lived with 10% battery increments on the DX for ages so I know how it is. Odd that they went with 71, 57 etc =\ Stupid increments but thats a lot less to deal with instead of 200 images xD

    I will send you a copy of my new battery mod when I finish it tomorrow evening.
