OTG On Cyanogenmod 11

I have recently flashed the Unofficial Cyanogenmod 11 ROM for the Moto G and was wondering if anybody got a USB keyboard or pen drive working.

For me the last nightly build does not work proper with OTG. The device does not charge an the connection fails frequently

I've been totally unable to get my phone to even recognise an OTG device since updating to 4.4.2.

Is there any update to this? I'd like to buy an OTG cable, but I'd hate to throw away the money.
