I am having the same problem and searched for a solution for ages. I know how to use airdroid drop box and whatsoever.but I want to stick to that rom.
Problem is if you stick in the cable as suggested in your helpful manner windows will come up with a pop up: device not recognized
Guess what it doesn't help if you just unplug and plug it in again. If you change your connection method in the storage settings it doesn't change a single thing.
Of course I tried reinstalling with and without wipes and all sort of things.
No matter what I do it doesn't change a thing. I can't even connect via adb means that mass storage app which was mentioned several time doesn't help at all because afaik it uses adb in some ways.
Now you can say just use airdroid. Okay let's try to do a backup of both SD cards.
First of all air Droid does not see emmc so no backup of ext SD. 2nd I don't have wifi so what did I have to do? Open a wifi hotspot on the terrible slow net book to connect to that and then copy everything.
After 6 hours I had a 8gb zip. Extracted to my hard drive and guess what. It had various archive problems.
So please don't say that this bug is not important and help fixing as it is quite urgent. If you can't submit anything useful then please don't say anything.
Regarding that unknown device error, it doesn't matter if it is windows 7 or xp and I know that mtp drivers are there as it worked with a Sammy rom.
I even tried to manually assign the driver to the "unknown device" but that didn't work either.
Anybody's help would be highly appreciated.
From my SII with any cool ROM
have you tried to completely delete the drivers from within device manager, reboot your computer (don't even think this is necessary) and let windows search for drivers again?
