There's a eMMC bug in its official ICS which will destroy the internal partitions once you touch its recovery , so I'm scared
Nothing wrong with that reason at all. Of course bricking your dad's phone would not be the wisest thing. What backup options do you have?

Let's face it we'll all upgrade our mobiles eventually it's just that some of us have to wait longer than others. Parents may not appreciate the coolest phones on the planet but generally they are more able to afford them.
