update:
14.01.2014: Added google maps with short name
18.02.2014: Added Older Google Maps 6.8.1 (DOWNLOAD)
22.06.2014: Added Old Google Maps 6.12.0 Default and Modded versions (DOWNLOAD)

you can install maps 6.14.1 (Navigation Unlocked) and Normal maps 6.14.4 like normal apks and use all versions together without conflict
Use Maps V7 or up and moded V6 And default v6N together and enjoy

there are cm and not cm versions, there are version with blue and original icons with short name. choose your desired version

if didn't Work, please Let Me Know: Device name & android version

These Versions Must Work in all devices (Compiled With CM10.2 Framework) Rooted and Non-Rooted

i did test Installing old Google Maps Framework (4.2.x)...
i did Install Gapps 4.2.x...
when i click sign in it says loged in to my account perfectly but still there is no saved places and stared places in Navigation unlocked version!

I was able to install it on Nexus 5, but not able to log in into my profile to get "My Places" (which is the main thing I'm missing in Maps v7).
When I go to Settings > Sign in, a "Login failed" bubble appears, and in the notification tray "Sign-in Request" message, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I have two Google accounts on this phone, if this makes any difference.

Same here!
The app installed properly and I was already jubilating. But then Login failed as OldSavage explains. Login via settings leads to same result.
Any idea why or a workaround? By the way, I only have one Google account on the phone. That shoulnd't be the reason for the issue.
For me too, beeing able to access "My Places" is the main reason why GM7 is useless to me (strange enough, tha they dumped such a basic feature)

yes i noticed that.
in Android 4.3, Old Maps is not able to log in!!! Tested on NOTE 3
if you found any old version that can log in please let me know (link or Up)

in google maps 7 you can see your stared places:
click on your search area and you will see View all, click that and y have all of your searches and stared places but yes it's hard to use compare with GM6

Version 6.14.1 is newer than 6.5.0 my friend buell47

in your 6.5.0 version you see Pre-cache map area in Labs!

Of course is your version right. I installed after downloading my own old and wrong maps version

And... You all are right.
I installed the 6.5.0 few months ago and everything works fine. Login and my locations also work after confirm the things in the notification bar.

But I didn't see, that now the maps are not logged in. No my locations, and no search function.

Maybe the new firmware updates are the problem. Before I updated my note 3, it works perfectly.

Hi

i was tested SM-N9005 and SM-N900 android 4.3
6.14.1 modded (open world navigastion )google maps working perfectly but 6.14.1 modded maps didnt login to google ! , when i try to login , google maps connet ( null ) and didnt get my favorites.

if you use not modded versiyon 6.14.4 - 6.14.3 - 7.0.2 they working perfect and get your favorites but navigation is didnt working your area
if you use modded this 6.14.1 , its working note 3 models perfect , navigation is support your area but didnt online to google, google didnt accept your account, but all of working full !!.

i was try to some thing and use 7.0.2 and 6.14.1 together ( parallel installing )

6.14.1 is installed system /app
7.0.2 is installed data/app

they didnt conflict they working together.
online issue didnt your fult,i hope this is 4.3 android issue , maybe security ( about knox etc ) or system/app folder , i didnt know , i just see dream.

i need working on my SM-N9005 android 4.3 , supporting navigation and login to google and get my favorites.
i was use all note series, i just have this issue on note 3.
please some body resolve this issue , its very important for me, navigation and favorites are very important for me working .
( so sory for my bad english )

finally worked

I was thinking to get rid of my i9500 due to sucking maps app after 4.3 update, but I installed this app. Intially it created trouble logging in. But I left it for a night. Then non navigation version logged in. Now working just like a dream. I'm again happy with s4!!!

I would just like to say thank you to the OP for posting this installation file. I hated Google Maps 7.0+ since it came out this past summer and immediately "downgraded" back to 6.0+ on my Galaxy S4 and ignored all Google Play updates for it. When I installed JellyBean 4.3, unfortunately it updated Maps to 7.0+ on its own. I used it for one day and was already at my wits end with it. Thanks again for this.

My only question regarding it is, is the map data static or will it update itself whenever Google updates map data? For example, if a street in my neighborhood suddenly gets changed from 2 way to one way and Google Maps is notified and updated, will your custom app know this as well?

The map data is in the cloud - it's not part of the app... so it will update.

A tip to avoid unnecessary power consumption.
The maps 6 version is also running at the same time with Maps 7.
I have a lot of background activities / wakelocks.
Probably location tagging or other stuff.
You can switch off the following options in Maps 6 without loosing the functions, because they are already activated in maps 7.
(Depending what you have activated)

Settings in GOOGLE- SETTINGS :

Now I have no Background activities from maps 6 anymore

What's the problem?
You can install the Maps 6 APK on any Android Device!

you can not simply make installable apks from s2 and install them on any android!
there are a lot of lib files and others that you need to port them!
Google it, maybe you found flash-able s2's TW and other things for any android
upload some apks that you want to convert, i want to test them
