hi,

thank you very much spending a lot of time to this rom.

Is there somebody else who has also problems with android Market if running this rom with Gapps?

My Market crashes always when I try to update a installed app or install a new app.
Often Market crashes also if I try to Open only a app information page without downloading anything.

The error report includes a Null- Pointer-Exception in NFC.java

For everyone who is always having issues with market or gapps

you need to do the following:

fresh install:
- factory reset
- install cm newest version
- install signed_GAPPS-IML74K-122211
- reboot
- use

update
- nandroid backup, just to be sure
- install newest CM version (you don't need to wipe \system and \cache this is wiped by the rom installation)
- install signed_GAPPS-IML74K-122211 again
- reboot
- use

this is always working for me, you always need to use the same GAPPS Version always!

if you once flashed another one, restore nandroid backup with a working signed_GAPPS-IML74K-122211 and update again

Anybody know why I get an error saying superuser has been denied, after flashing? It doesn't happen right away, but after I install, and if I reboot, after that, I always get superuser has been denied. No option to accept. Any ideas?

Well, just wanted to say glad to be back on the crack flash wagon. I was an avid flasher on the N1 with Fits ROMs and took the plunge today at work with my GN after a week of stock 4.0.2.

As I type this I now see the 01232012 ROM... :)

Looking forward to lots of tasty bits.

Had to clear trebuchet data after flashing, but apart from that it seems solid :)

Just getting started on this ROM and have noticed something since coming over from stock 4.0.2 while on the corporate "guest" wifi network at work. I have my GN and my personal laptop connected to this guest network and when Google Chrome is open with my gmail running, it gets emails throughout the day. When I look at my phone, while on the same wifi network, it is sporadic in whether it gets email or not. If I notice that my phone has not received email in a while, I can turn off wifi on the phone and it hops onto HSPA and bam, all the email comes in immediately.

Google voice on the phone never gets email at work on wifi but again, my laptop does.

I am not sure if there is any packet filtering going on or what but just wanted to see if anyone else has had any problems syncing google services over wifi.

What I've done so far:
  1. Wipe Factory Reset.
  2. Install CM9 Kang 4.0.3 build from 1/23.
  3. Add Google accounts manually.
  4. After problems were noticed, I cleared gmail application data. No change.

What I still need to try:
  1. My old N1 on the corporate guest wifi network.
  2. My GN on wifi at home.

I have the same issues. Logs will probably show that your work network filters xmpp which Android/Google relies on for push.

Gmail web etc uses normal http, which should be Unfiltered.

You can force refresh on your Androids gmail client and you should get new mail.

Installing the windows (not web) gtalk client (which also relies on xmpp) on your laptop will probably lead to the same issues or even failure to sign in.

At work I need to use proxies to make it work.

These are network issues and NOT Android issues.

Warning: Not for new user, flash this build only if you know what you are doing !!!

There are no Google Apps bundled with CM ROMs, because Google asked Cyanogen to remove copyrighted apps from his roms,
after flashing rom don't forget to flash Google Addon package if you want it.

Repositories for all AOSP projects have been created on our github to alleviate any potential mismatches (branch is 'jellybean').

While Jelly Bean won't require a major rewrite of all the CM features, the source has been re-arranged and re-factored enough that a simple merge isn't possible. So we will proceed with manual merging (this was to be expected really).

The plan of attack will be to cherry-pick everything from CM9 and fix the merge conflicts and relocations. It’s tedious but the only way. Ideally the original patch authors will forward-port their changes, so if you are out there and want to help out, join us in #cyanogenmod -dev.

+ Trebuchet might be messy to rebase onto JB.
+ Theme Engine will be messy.
+ SystemUI stuff will need to be restyled.
+ Lockscreen stuff will need to be restyled.
+ The current UX of Settings is good, no reason to change anything there.

A manifest (Cyanogenmod/android.git) will be going up later this afternoon, so the masses will be able to sync directly from our source at that point as well.

This will be it on the updates (so we can focus on actually working). Next post referencing JB should be when the merge/cherry-pick process is complete.

Why are some people coming in here like "why cm doesnt do it like aokp"?

Why do you think??? Because it ISN'T aokp.
I'm getting pretty bored about everyday i come in here, and mostly every post i read says "i have data drops with nightly X" "i have wifi drops on nightly X" "when cm releases a stable rc" "milestone"
Do you know what nightlies mean??? There are no bug reports, so all those complains will only be heard, basically when, you are running a RC and you get a logcat or kmsg to backup your claims. Otherwise, it's just user error.
So stop cluttering the damn thread and asking if this is good enough to be a daily driver. If you have to ask, then its not for you.
Go back to stock or aokp. Return your phone, you are holding it wrong. Buy a dumb phone.

It would be great if you guys who have changed to a 3rd party kernel would quit posting in this thread. Thanks
