Is anybody facing camera recording issues in 0429 Quarx on Bayer lens Defy? That was ok on 0413 build.
Btw 0429 feels smoother even than 0413, advanced settings menu was fixed and data usage statics is working now.
Hope somebody get a workaround for the camera recorder to avoid coming back once more to 0413

CEE is also a good choice, and if I'm not mistaken it's the recommended one for CM7 and CM9.

That's correct, only the Gingerbread kernel supports 4 CPU speeds.

Hey,

Sorry, but I'm stuck with the Froyo kernel, and I have no idea about the problem you're facing. Maybe the other guys can give you a solution.

I'm using Quarx's 0429 version and while everything works as intended, the Phone doesn't!!! ... I mean, PHONE! the main function most of us forgot it had (lol)... yeah, I can type numbers 'n shiz, but when I make a call, com.android.phone force-closes. Any ideas? I love this release but I can't make calls D: I'm using a correct baseband, too.

I'm using LCD Density 180 btw.

Nordic and CEE are different (Nordic was even launched a few months before CEE), and the baseband switcher has nothing to do with it.
Well, it's your problem then, my phone used those 3 speeds plus the deep sleep state in CM7 and CM9 (the 600mhz value when listening to music, or some light to medium usage, but for a short while).

I didn't know that :p
This is what I meant -

BBS shows nordic to be in CEE region. so I thought CEE sbf is the same as nordic!
And if you see that thread link I posted, this is actually not just my problem (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=25241397). But perhaps it doesn't happen to everyone :)

The baseband simply states with what regions it is compatible, it has nothing to do with the SBF or ROM.
Well, everyone uses their phone differently, so it's a bit hard to standardize the usage :). Same goes for the voltages: since every CPU is different, some people are able to undervolt more than others and still have stability.

Screwed up?

Hi Guys,

Bought a Defy+ with Gingerbread 2.3.5 for my wife and tried to install CM9, i followed these steps:

Install guide (courtesy of nogoodusername):
A How to on flashing ICS(Defy Plus Builds)

1:Head over to Stable Recovery from boot menu
2:Wipe Data (Nandroid Backup Before Doing this [optional])
3:Install Zip from SD
4:Select ur ICS(DefyPlus) zip
5:FLash
6:Flash CM9 Kernel
7:Flash Gapps zip(On first page of ICS DeV thread)
8:Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache

Installed also the battery fix for red lense.

So now when i power up i cant pass the bootloader screen.

I made an nandroid backup before messing up.

The message in bootloader says:

Bootloader
9.10
Err:A4,70,00,0023

Battery OK
OK to Program
Conect USB
Data Cable

Thanks for any help

Screwed up?

I was able to restore with original SBF from our carrier. Used RSD lite.

So any directions to how get up and runing any rom like CM9. The stock rom is slow as hell!

Im experienced in flashing roms. Had a Nexus one, and now an Galaxy SII.

The version installed now on my Defy+ is 2.3.5

Maybe i should flash only the nightly without flashing CM9 kernel?

don't flash the kernel if you don't have downgraded your defy

não flasheie o kernel se você não tiver feito o downgrade
procura pelo meu tutorial, eu fiz um guia de como fazer o downgrade de kernel no Defy+
procura por "salo-s is a fag", tu vai achar ;)

Is anybody facing camera recording issues in 0429 Quarx on Bayer lens Defy? That was ok on 0413 build.
Btw 0429 feels smoother even than 0413, advanced settings menu was fixed and data usage statics is working now.
Hope somebody get a workaround for the camera recorder to avoid coming back once more to 0413

TO CLEAR YOUR CONFUSIONS ABOUT GB KERNEL ICS AND FROYO KERNEL ICS

I have seen lot of confused user out there asking about which kernel to flash and stuff... So here u go read below...
So our beloved Awsome Developers make two types of nightlies
    1-For DefyPlus(Can Also be used on Defy(RedLens))
These are the GB/CM9 kernel builds
These are found under /cm9-nightly-defy+/ folder of the servers which we have
To install these you need to follow the TuT to install ICS Defy Plus Above...
Green Lens Camera Wont work on these builds

2-For Regular Defy(Do not work on Defy plus)
    These are Froyo/CM7 kernel Builds
These are found under /CM9-Nightly-Defy/ folder of the servers which we have.
To install these follow the TuT to install CM9 ICS FOR Defy stated above

3-Well there is no 3rd build(There is The MileStone2 Port by Walter79,But now that we have camera on our builds that one is not usefull...)

+ICS bugs (all kernel versions) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1381887

    -Panorama
    -HWA a bit buggy

ok, you know what? i tired of this. I'm reading in all kinds all replys (here and in other threads/PM): from good job to being dissapointed by the way i manage(update) this thread. I'm sorry for those of you who are dissapointed (but bear in mind that i do this for free, in my spare time, for you) and lots of thanks for those of you who appreciate my efforts in keeping this as "up-to-date" as I can. But I can't do this no more... users are getting upset for being to much threads about this, and since I'm not the developer nor have anything to do with the development of ICS, I will ask a moderator to close and archive this thread.

It was nice while it lasted. See you around:) Cheers!

     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
Comes with Google Apps pre installed
    Added Defy ROM Updater
Camera one step foward: There is shutter opening sound( or something of that sort ), Camera app doesn't just Force Close anymore. Still cannot connect to camera
    UI is somewhat faster.

    What is Defy ROM Updater?
A ROM Manager like app, it allows to
    Check for updates
Perform all wipes( Davlik, app, data )
    Backuping and Restoring the ROM
    Entering Recovery Mode.

    29-Jan-2012:
     Feedback:--GodSlayer--:
    UI is much faster
    3G Works rather well
Added Interface: Launcher, Interface:Themes, Launcher:System in settings
    Added Personal:Profiles in Settings
    Added System:Performance in Settings
Camera very very soon - when you usually open camera, there is that sound, in this build, it has that sound but camera app force closes.
Added Music app( CyanogenMod 7 )
Added Dev Tools - ( don't remember it in previous version, perhaps I am mistaken )

    12-Jan-2012:
    -Fix wifi
    -Dual Storage Notification

thanks for the reports, i fixed the apn window (merge problem, aosp 4.0.4 merge was not fast-forward) and the wifi off from notification bar by a temporary hack...

for the video, its still very sensible code, and our device familly (omap3) is almost fully ignored by cyanogenmod team ....

bootmenu and Usb apps have now the official ICS branch, but wifi camera and codecs will be a hell again to be merged...

This build is test of hwa with some fixes..
Fully hwa we can use only after new gl libs, but for now we can't use new libs(thanks to moto for that)
On defy+ hwa completely unstable, than on defy.
