So many of us are rooted...so many...

Getting to ED01 isn't easy without any radio leak. So, to get to ED01, so you can get yer bran' spankin' new modem!, follow these directions.

First, we will downgrade to DL09.
Do this by flashing this DL09 package in Odin (pda button, pda button, pda button)
http://adrynalyne.us/files/stuff/

Then, download this EA28 update.zip, put it on your sd card, reboot to recovery and flash:

Finally, download this ED01 update.zip put it on your sdcard, and reboot to recovery and flash:
http://www.multiupload.com/LPI21AP8TD

Then, flash whatever the latest and great cwr 2.5.x is (I've not kept track.) Do not use cwr 3.x for now, imo. You can then flash one of the stock rooted roms, or root yourself via flashing a super user package from cwr.

Good luck!

Note: Keep in mind that once you Odin CWR to ED01, you MUST also flash a kernel, or rom containing a kernel to replace the stock one, or it will revert you.
Boot first to CWR after Odin, and install one of the above.

Are the ed01 and the leaked radio so different that it is worth the process?

There must be a small difference. How can one go about extracting the radio?

Are there any mirrors for the DL09 package? Won't seem to download for me, always stops after a random but small amount - 8 megs, 19 megs, etc.

Nobody has answered the question. Is EC01 the same as ED01? I don't want to waste the time in putting this update.zip in if it will not improve any.

this worked great for me, thanks Adrynalyne!

I thought this would be a pain in the ass but it was actually pretty easy.

Here's what I did. Was running Evil Fascinate 3.3.1 w/ EC01 radio, PBJT kernel. Did a nandroid backup.
    ODIN'd DL09.
Booted to android, copied EA28 update.zip to root of SD
    Booted to recovery, loaded update.zip
Booted to android, copied ED01 update.zip to root of SD
    Booted to recovery, loaded update.zip
Booted to android, verified ED01 modem loaded.
    ODIN'd CWM
as phone rebooted from ODIN immediately jumped into recovery and restored my nandroid backup.
booted, noticed VZW splash was present (but everything else from my backup was restored), so booted to recovery and loaded Evil Fascinate ROM w/o wiping anything
booted again, then back to recovery and flashed voodoo PBJT kernel
converted FS and up and running beautiful with my new ED01 modem and all my data, apps, configuration, etc still intact.

Hello thanks for your reply, how I install that kernel, because I can't use rom manager, odin maybe?

Why don't you just flash the newest ED01 Community Rom? It installs a kernel and root and everything in one package. You would have to put the files on your sdcard first, then Odin CWR and on first boot after you odin CWR you have to boot into CWR by holding both volume buttons and flash the rom.

In all seriousness, if you have to ask these basic questions you might want to slow down and do some basic reading before flashing....you've been warned.

I still don't understand how to do this. So far I ODINed DL09 and rebooted. Put EA28 on the root of my sdcard and when I tried to reboot recovery, I get blue recovery... how do I flash the EA28 update.zip on a blue recovery? I hope you guys can clarify this because I don't understand. Am I supposed to use Rom Manager? Please be polite, I'm not new to this, I just don't find the instructions to be very clear. Thanks guys.

    Steps are:

    1. Odin DL09 & reboot. (DONE)
    2. Put EA28 update.zip on root of SD card; boot into blue recovery; apply sdcard:update.zip; reboot.
    3. Put ED01 update.zip on root of SD card (overwrite the existing); boot into blue recovery; apply sdcard:update.zip; reboot.

At this point, you'll be running stock, bloated ED01.
