teshxx: I'm gonna have to disagree here.

ro.product.model in particular is used for compatibility checks, and also for licensing purposes.

And CSC files control some features on the phone itself, in addition to containing applicable network tweaks (FastDormancy for one), allowed emergency numbers and APN settings.

All those depends on your Provider. As soon as your phone logs into the network (tmobile for me) phone applies settings for that provider. How about you flash it and tell me if you find any discrepancy. Your argument/opinion is invalid if you haven't even tried it.

If it has the settings to begin with, which is what those CSC files do, and the set in your latest download is the Singapore one. The phone matches the MNC and MCC of the carrier its connected to with what it has available in its applied CSC file. The remainder is obvious by looking at the CSC xml files themselves.

Anybody else try to flash the modem and have an unsuccessful boot sequence. Flashing back to the previous one fixed it. Odd.

Sorry to insist, but it freaks me out. WIFI stopped yesterday, worked this morning, and again after flashing, I get this:

These are completely stock so not sure why you are having wifi issues. Did you install the right one? Did you install any mods? Did you clean cache/dalvik/factory reset ?

Just wanted to ask something

What's the point of flashing these modems?
I have been using the Jedi rom (with the Tmobile modem supposedly) for a long time.
Everything works fine.

After I flashed the WIND modem, my 3G speed dropped from 12 to 7/8 mbs
Is there any perks of using my carrier's modem?
