Great news m8, glad it worked
Please quote the exact steps you are follwoing so we can perhaps see where you are going wrong. It is working for everyone else so perhaps there is a step you are missing out on. I have put together a bit more of a step by step instruction in the new thread I started (see link in my signature)

1st you need to flash to an official TMobile US rom 2.10. This will downgrade your spl to 2.08.0000.
2nd - HSPL2 will not work, you need HSPL_1024 - see link in my signature
I'm getting Critical Error Bad model ID also.
Started with 2.10 spl, got the device yesterday, flashed a different rom, and it says SPL-2.08.000 but still getting this error.

Are you using HSPL_1024? You will get an error if you use either of the files in the first post. Link to HSPL_1024 in my signature
The HSPL.zip downloadable on 1# post of this thread is infected by virus (keyboard logger)

no, its the program the creators used to pack the executable gets read as a false positive by some AV progs. If you are getting a positive on hspl, you will probably also get one on customruu.exe when you start to flash roms.

F'ing awesome i got SPL V. 2.10.0000 and i just used HSPL3 and it worked mint!!! Thank you so much, when i reconstruct my fiancences after paying the hefty $450 for this beast ill definately make a donation

Hey Lutanica, i see ur from norway, and ive tried to update my hd2 with android, but cant seems to get it workin. Just wondered if u made itwork, and how? ive followed every step closely, but when i power the phone back up after install, its just same old windows crap on it

Now I have the following problem, regardless what cooked ROM I install, when I do a softreset the phone doesn't boot up. It gets stuck at white screen with green HTC text. Normally it would should firmware versions in red at bottom of screen, but it doesn't. There is no other way to recover from this state, but a hard reset. I have tried two different cooked ROM, one from Duttys and one from Miri (HTCPedia)

Please read carefully before installing!
1) To install this HSPL there must be SPL 1.42.0000 on your device.
Otherwise the installation will fail!
To check your SPL version, hold the Volume Down button and do a reset.
It is possible to downgrade to this SPL, by just flashing to an Official ROM
with this SPL version.
2) Features
- Disabled CID Check, so you can flash any official ROM without using a Gold Card.
- Security Level = 0, so you can use all the boot loader commands (for developers).
- This HSPL will not get overwritten when flashing a full NBH with SPL via RUU.
- No NBH signatures check, so you can flash unsigned ROM images.
3) Warranty Issues
Be warned, Installing HSPL may void your warranty.
If you need to send your device to a Repair Centre,
make sure that you uninstall HSPL!
4) Uninstallation
Only way to remove the HSPL is to flash an original SPL from SD card.
- Take any "RUU_signed.nbh" from a ship ROM and copy it to SD card.
- Rename it to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.

Troubleshooting:
- I have SPL 1.42.666 on the device.... !!!! WAIT !!!! SPL 1.42.6666 is not the version of the SPL on your device!... it is the SSPL version. Most likely you have the needed 1.42.0000 SPL on the device, just try to install this HSPL if you need it. Don't worry, if there is not the right SPL on the device, then u will get an error message, but nothing will happen to your device
- "Your OS ROM isn't customized for your hardware. Please reflash the proper ROM code or contact the service center", !!! Problem NOT related to HSPL !!! ... this means that you flashed a region protected rom... flash any other rom that has your region ID... or patch it

well, HSPL2 comes
To install/uninstall this HSPL there must be any SPL version from this list on your device:
SPL 1.42.0000 SPL 1.42.HSPL
SPL 1.62.0000
SPL 1.66.0000 SPL 1.66.HSPL
SPL 2.07.0000
SPL 2.08.0000 SPL 2.08.HSPL
Other versions are not supported. (They are rare however...)
Now you can uninstall HSPL via same program, you no longer need to flash rom from SD card!
In HSPL2 you can select which version of SPL you want to install in the device.
There included 6 SPLs:
OSPL 1.42, OSPL 1.66, OSPL 2.08 (Original SPL)
HSPL 1.42, HSPL 1.66, HSPL 2.08 (Hard SPL)
Remember that some ROMs have old SPLs, for example 2.10 ROM have 2.08 SPL, 1.72 ROM have 1.66 SPL and etc!
You can install any of them using HSPL2.
