Hello !

2 years later I´m proud to present you my very first MOD for the GALAXY S5.
Still remember the old HX-days ;)

STOCK CAMERA is based on XXU1ANG1

Features:

HX_Camera_MOD_1.1

  • 1080P = 27 Mbit
  • 720P =17 Mbit
  • 1080P60FPS = 42 Mbit (Works as expected)
  • UHD = UNTOUCHED !
  • UHD Limitation removed ! (60 min. confirmed working !)
  • All modes have 256 kbit Audio.
New in 1.1:

  • Added Outdoor-visibility Option (need confirmation if this works)
  • Added Photo and Video Quality options (unfortunately there is an icon-bug, but we don´t care...)
  • Superfine = 100 % Photo Quality MOD, Photos will mostly be over 10 MB size.
    Fine = Untouched
    Normal = max. compression = min. file size
  • Slowmotion 2X will be REPLACED for 720P -> 60FPS
  • Slowmotion for ALL Resolutions Added (only 4X and 8 X)
  • FastMotion for ALL resolutions
  • 1080P Superfine = 30 Mbit
    Fine = 23 Mbit
    Normal = 17 Mbit
  • UHD Superfine = 62 Mbit
    Fine = 48 Mbit
    Normal = 38 Mbit
  • 1080P60fps Superfine = 62 Mbit
    Fine = 46 Mbit
    Normal = 22 Mbit


New in 1.2:


  • fixed missing BURST Photo feature
  • fixed red-dot-icon
  • Slow-Motion 4X_720P is replaced for REAL 720P @ 120 FPS, still 8 X is beeing used for slow-Mo.
- Can´t go over ~ 56 Mbit on UHD Video for some reasons.
- Still 1080P Slow-Motion works only on "Normal" Video Quality.

- UHD slow-Motion causes Camera to CRASH

New in 1.21:


  • Burst Mode (camera-crashes) fixed
  • Camera-APP from DXU1ANG1 is exactly the same, so no change here.
New in 1.22:

  • New icon for Video/Photo Quality settings (made by "EarthQuaker")

New in 1.3:


  • Taking Photos during 1080P60FPS and UHD by pressing VOL UP / VOL DOWN (needed to be set in the settings)




I need confirmation for exFAT, so UHD Videos size can be more then 4 GB.
Please test this Setting.


If the Camera app is not beeing replaced, Just extract the zip file and Copy SamsungCamera3.apk to System\app\



  1. Download Zip-File
  2. Flash with CWM recovery
  3. Reboot

Image quality 100 % in mediaprofiles.xml doesnt work at all ! This has been discussed many years ago...

Okay Thanks. Can i Edit ne MediaProfiles for more Quality with 4K Res.?


My MediaProfiles.xml:

<EncoderProfile quality="high" fileFormat="mp4" duration="30">

<Audio codec="aac"

sampleRate="48000"

But this doesn't work with your HX-Mod. But your mod is Cool :)

But this doesn't work with your HX-Mod. But your mod is Cool :)

No. This file will have no effect.
In my opinion. 48 mbit is the best quality to file size for uhd res. Same goes to 1080 @60 fps.

tried video recording on 4k mode, stops automatically after 5 minutes..

It should show 60 mins. Maybe because you have the 900s?

You must delet the SamsungCamera3.odex :) After Delete my SamsungCamera3.odex i have 60 Min. Rec. :)

EDIT: Not working on edgar's rom :/ (Odexed rom)

Maybe, as an option... And if I get permission from @hyperX- of course!

Edit: read above posts, if you're running an odexed ROM (like mine), then you need to delete the SamsungCamera3.odex file in your /system/app folder.

    I really don´t know what you are trying to say ?

    All i have done is, to extend the Original Camera-APP from Samsung to have More Options/Quality Settings depending on the HARDWARE.

    that means:


    • It will be never Possible to have Slow-Motion + UHD working
    • It will be never Possible to have to have smooth motion UHD
    • It will be never Possible to have 1080P Slowmotion like 720P (just because 720P Slow-motion is recorded in 120 FPS)
    The list can be much more and more... but i´m sure you know what i am trying to say !?


    The Basic Functions of the Original Samsung Camera is working as expected, except:

    • Slow-motion (720P) 1/2 - > is replaced for 720P 60FPS
    • Slow-motion (720P) 1/4 - > is replaced for 720P 120FPS
    Okay, Maybe i have to revise my changelog, but you have to notice we are still in DEVELOPING section !

    I'm hesitant to update as of now since I lose root. And there are no easy methods where I stay rooted and the Knox counter doesn't trip. I'll ask around in the forums if someone can provide us with the SamsungCamera3.apk. Do you need anything else with that? system/etc/media_profiles.xml?

    (Camera Firmware Menu: *#34971539#)

    The new camera FW Ver is F16QLHF01GB (Phone/Load) (ANG2 Build)
    I have F16QLHC04GB (Phone/Load) (ANE2 Build)
    Phone is SM-G900F (Snapdragon 801)

    @lucky_sidhu can you check your camera FW Version?
