I know your Twitter says your tired mike, but I am sure that's do to working on the next release ;)

Looking forward to it. I came from a Samsung Epic 4G & your ROM was the first (and only flashed). Love to try others, but i'm too lazy to start from scratch. I can say that I have had NO problems at all on your ROM, so I am sure that much time goes in each version to make them as perfect as possible.

Keep up the great work.

I've tried 2 so far, the newest one with the popping, it has issue with the menu key showing at lock screen and disappearing at landscape mode(and the fact that I'd rather have searchkey instead), and the one with just 3 keys with the long press home as task switcher and a search key with long press voice search. The latter has a bit of a weird behavior on flashing as it seems to stuck in a loop or something for a bit, but it eventually rebooted and works good....

I always wipe dalvik when installing those mods. Sometimes cage too, but I have never had an issue with any of the mods, and I've used all of those ones. You are using this ROM? Cause those are only for 4.0.2 there are others for 4.0.3.

Thanks for the great ROM

While this is my first ROM and the Galaxy Nexus is my first usable android phone, the difference between stock and your ROM is like night and day. Especially when it comes to battery life and speed. Thanks for all the hard work!

Is there something special/unique about systemUI.apk in this ROM? Anytime I try to install Mods that affect systemUI (softkey Mods as an example), I lose my softkeys completely as well as the top statusbar.

Make sure that the ones your using are for 4.0.2 and not AOSP 4.0.3 this rom is stock but tweaked. Also wipe dalvik prior to flashing. I posted a link a few posts back I've used all of them no problems. Hope that helps

tl;dr i like this ROM because it is simple, it works and works well. the more crap you add to something, the less stable it is. thanks to the dev, cant wait till 4.0.3

I'm inclined to agree although the latest CM9 Kang on 4.0.3 is faster and smoother. There are, however, a few stability related issues so I may stick with Revolution for now.

Curious, just got the Nexus, but I am not sure if it's the ROM or the phone overall, but when I get a text, it does not show the red little number in the corner of text icon in the bottom launcher. Is that an add on or different launcher I need ?

    • Android Revolution HD Advanced User – every user might get this rank with proper banner by doing some amazing modification, application, theme etc. for Android Revolution HD.
      Creating simple bootanimation might not be enough, but you never know! Having Recognized User status before is not needed!

    • Android Revolution HD Supporter – every user who shared some server space with us (with proper bandwidth) will get this banner. Please keep in mind we can't use DropBox shared folders.
      What we can use is minimum 20 GB of space and 10 Mbit upload speed. If you want to donate some server space to us, please contact me via private message.

    I have no hardware to compile ROM from AOSP. So I need to use factory images, and no factory images were released for 4.0.3 yet. And I think it's not enough reason to rate my thread with one star. I've been through it with every single thread I have. There are always some pricks giving one star just for fun. I'm not paid for what I do.

    Rating list should be public. I wonder if brave people will still be that brave.

    Performance Tweaks for Android Revolution HD



    • data_writeback journalism for /system, /data and /cache partitions.
    This mod will turn ON data_writeback for all 3 partitions - system, data and cache. This will drastically improve I/O performance (mostly on write operations) at the expense of file system integrity in certain situations, like unexpected system shutdown. The risk is not extreme, but still bigger then regular. Use this to improve your system performance, but you flash it at your own risk!

    Android Revolution HD EXT4 Tweaks v.0.1

    • Force GPU rendering on 2D operations.
    This mod is working similar to "Render GUI with GPU" option in Development Settings. Flashing this will force whole system to use GPU rendering (instead of CPU) for all kind of 2D/3D operations. This might improve 2D operations performance, but keep in mind that some apps are not working correctly with GPU rendering. After using this mod you no longer need to tick "Render GUI with GPU" in settings. Even if un-ticked it will be still working. Flash it at your own risk!
