Last week I got hold of a i200 from Samsung. Nice device but it does mis some things. It also got things other smartphones don't have, like specific software.
Nevertheless I start looking for more info and I found the most info incl faq's and firmware op 4PDA, the Russian mobility site.

Trick

mawc53.jpg

try *#0228# to get this info.
or
run windows \ LCDTest.exe and press 8

Use the front camera as a mirror :)
Hmm. That front camera isn't very good!

* # 0 * # - then press 8 - a frontal camera

Free up memory space
To release the memory of 5 meters on the phone - go to the folder windows, collect all the mp3 files and move together on the expansion card (we are microSD) to the folder My Documents.

It can use 8GB SDHC without problems. 16GB has to be divided into 2*8GB

The faq also had a item about the firmware. Mine is i200XXHF4. But there seems to be some other version, newer or older? i don't know. You can get them here
Just scroll down to the i200.More on flashing here

Maybe cooks can do something with the firmware ;)

There is already a kitchen to unpack the firmware, here[/url and [url=http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=105877&view=findpost&p=2410342]check here Originally it comes from the i617 kitchen here

More on the smartphone you can read on 4PDA, HERE

List of working programs

I haven't read everything yet.The thread has just 3 pages.That is the faq. The discussion thread is 145 pages! the firmware thread has 12 pages

Bug:

The calculator has a bug. Try 10-10% it is 9 Calculator says 9,9 :)

A really big problem is. The phone drains the battery when connected to a Pc

Watch out. The links are translated from Russin to English, and contain erros, bad translations and russian words.

So have a question about the i200 put it in this thread please.Thanks to the 4PDA guys.

More bugs. When 33%-38% power is left. It stays at this level for awhile. Then when suddenly it will display "ACC-discharge" at 15% and will drop quickly to 1%

A really big problem is. The phone drains the battery when connected to a Pc
At least i tried it on my ASUS EeePC.

I see mine is charging, on my home PC. Didn't do anything like a register hack.

But there is another solution here (last message)

I like to come back to the draining of the battery. Last night I had to i200 connected to the PC. It will charge then. I hadn't disconnected my phone. This morning when I put it on the battery seems to be empty while I hadn't used it. So. When the battery is fully loaded you get a message saying to disconnect the power. This is also the case when connected to the PC. Otherwise it will drain fast. Now here's a problem, because there's no possibily to keep the phone connected for install purposese. Or you don't have to forget to disconnect it.

The calc is working correct! You were calculating 10-0,1=9,9 because 10% = 0,1 !!!

List of known Roms and datecode of flash files!

...which is the newest [ROM]?

I found the answer "datecode of flash files" here:

Example firmware i200XXHF1

i200 = Model
XX = The linguistic area
H = Year
F = Month
1 = Version of month (Minor fix in firmware within a month)

XX Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Denmark
H 2008
F June (G July)
1 - First version in month

List of known firmware and discussion in this thread.

First: Thanks hendrixus for that thread!

I own one i200 since a week and really love it!

It is a nice phone. I like my Omnia i900 more

The calc is working correct! You were calculating 10-0,1=9,9 because 10% = 0,1 !!!

It isn't.
10-10%=9 cause 10% of 10=1
I200 still says 9.9 that's isn't correct.
It calc 1% instead of 10% cause 1% of 10=0,1

I tried this with several calculators. This bug was also reported on the Internet.

Please enter *#1234# in homescreen.

My version (german!) is:

PDA: Pi200XXHF1
Phone: i200XXHF1
Date: Jun 02 08

My Dutch version:

PDA:pi200XXHF4
Phone:i200XXHF4
Date: Jun, 17 08

I found the answer here:

Example firmware i200XXHF1

F = Month
1 = Version of month (Minor fix in firmware within a month)

XX Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Denmark

List of known firmware:
i200XXHF1 - 2008 Jun (1)

i200XXHF4
2008 Jun (4)

i200XXHF5 - 2008 Jun (5)

but "What's new"?

Charging behavior makes me sick. It seems the i200 can't be charged on PC (USB) when it's off.

My i200 charges on USB if it is on. Now it is off because battery is discharged and I can't charge it via USB...

I think it is the same with my Omnia i900

Calc again

It isn't [working correct].
10-10%=9 cause 10% of 10=1
I200 still says 9.9 that's isn't correct.
It calc 1% instead of 10% cause 1% of 10=0,1

Right. 10% of 10 = 1
But 10% = 10/100 = 0,1

10% of 10 simply means 10/100 * 10
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percent

What you wanted to say:
10 - (10/100 * 10) = 9

What you said to the calc:
10 - 10/100 = 9,9

"Multiplicative operations (multiplication and division) take precedence over additive operations (addition and subtraction)."
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_operations

The Calc simply did what you told him. In this simply calc there is no x% of y function.

What New in ROM i200XXHG2?

My Dutch version:
PDA:pi200XXHF4
Phone:i200XXHF4
Date: Jun, 17 08

but "What's new" [in i200XXHG2]?

That's a good question. The latest russian ROM seams to fix some known errors like the 5s lag of hearing the voice of the one who calls you (incoming call). But I don't have that error on my phone!?

On http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-713936.html I found i200XXHF5 and i200XXHG2.

But I am afraid of flashing to i200XXHG2 because I have don't have a ROM of i200XXHF1 (original on my phone) to got back to if I don't like i200XXHG2...

Is there someone with i200XXHG2 around who can tell if it's a good ROM?
