Just a heads up to people in the USA that have been looking to buy the Huawei Ascend Mate 2! Beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 29th Fry's Electronics stores will have the HAM2 for $279 and that price will be good until the following Thursday. You can buy in-store or order online and get free shipping.... not too shabby!

Also, please be aware there is a mis-print showing the device has Android version 4.4.

I ordered one

I was a little on the fence about getting the Mate 2 because I have preordered the Samsung Note 4 (the pen, 4K video, high rez screen, etc) plus I was hoping to get the Mate 7 but with all the confusion about frequencies and availability and Fry's lower price I figured I would take a chance. I was torn between the white and black one, the black one seems to have better back side gripability but I went with white because it looks a bit more cool and "happier."
