Sony z1 compact usb(to transfer files only without charging)

I want to connect my Sony xperia z1 compact to laptop via usb cable (to transfer files only without charging).
My previous mobile (Htc) had some options that allow me to choose if I want to charge, transfer data etc.
Is possible to do the same with the Sony?

Not that I have found. Stock Sony ROM has an extra "Xperia" option to connect in Mass Storage (MSC) instead of MTP or as Camera (CTP). It makes it like your external SD Card is a regular USB drive. This is why I ditched all other ROMs because there was no proper file transfer mode.

Not sure about Internal system SD card access ... you might have to enable USB debugging for it to read the system SD Card. And perhaps depends on the ROM you are using too.
