Arconium MIUI

Based on official MIUI release by MIUI Scotland or MIUIAndroid.

Everything is working including HDMI, FM Radio and WiFi tethering/hotspot.

Release Notes

2.5.18 (23 May)
  • Based on MIUIAndroid 2.5.18.
  • Fixed Chinese text on lockscreen.
  • Removed some useless apks.
  • Supercharged services.jar.
  • Added some tweaks.
  • Software rendering enabled by default.

  • Based on MIUIAndroid 2.5.11.
  • Fixed Chinese text on lockscreen.
  • Removed some useless apks.
  • Supercharged services.jar.

2.4.27 (28 Apr)
  • Based on MIUI Scotland 2.4.27v2.
  • Fixed Chinese text on lockscreen.
  • Fixed MAC address being incorrect.
  • Removed some useless apks.

2.4.20 (21 Apr)
  • Based on MIUI 2.4.20 (MIUIAndroid).
  • Again fixed Chinese text on lockscreen.
  • Fixed MAC address being incorrect.
  • Removed some useless apks.
  • Supercharged services.jar.
  • Mount SD card as mass storage by default.

Known Issues

  • Phone numbers with country code in front aren't detected properly (they duplicate in messaging). (?)

Troubleshooting

  • Flash the corresponding modules from the kernel you use (unless "modules included" is written) to make sure WiFi works properly.
  • To solve spell-check issues, either disable it altogether or install a different keyboard.
  • Root access is disabled by default. To enable it, open the security app and enable root permission there.
  • If keyboard doesn't show up, try rebooting the phone once more.

Installation

  1. Copy update zip to SD card.
  2. Flash baseband 70 using FlashTool.
  3. Flash one of the listed kernels.
  4. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
  5. Factory reset / wipe data. Optional but highly recommended.
  6. Flash zip package(s) (always flash main ROM first).
  7. Reboot.

Basically the same as ZduneX25 ROM at the moment? I think you should let ZduneX25 to improve his own ROM or work with him/handle your tweaks to him since most of the work was done by him.

This is just my opinion Doomed151 don't take it the wrong way, but wasn't this what you asked Chaos to do after he posted his "Advanced Stock Rom"?

Not really, he/she (ZduneX25) only compiles the ROM from sources. I take it and improve it (in any way doable) and don't worry, I won't leave my other ROMs in the dust.

Check the release notes if you want to know the differences.

You must know this ROM build and development by official MIUI TEAM.
You only need download source from miui github and run makefile.
This ROM still Internal testing in china official MIUI forum and not open download.
Official MIUI TEAM still fix bug and even ota everyday.

Not sure about that, should be more or less compared to official ICS beta.

That much I already know. Since the sources are public, compiling it and releasing it to the public shouldn't be wrong. I also credited the MIUI team. Also, once official MIUI for LT18 comes out, I'll probably discontinue this.

This is ICS (4.0.3). AOSP kernel is not stable enough so they decided to use the ICS beta sources for now, at least that's what I think.

On the GB MIUI it was not possible to use 3rd party camera apps without any issue. Take camera360 as an example, the viewfinder stays black and therefore the app is not usable. How well are those camera apps working on this ROM?

I just tried using CameraFX and it worked really good. I was able to take a picture and save it :)

Yes, they work fine. Tested with Barcode Scanner.

The miui team change development method in all MIUI V4.
Now all official MIUI V4 base on official 4.0 ROM not the CM or AOSP
This method can to ensure the all function work and rom stable
Also the official camera,the official camera is a lot better than cm or aosp.
but you also can port it based on CM9 and NS MIUI ROM

Wow, this sounds too good to be true... I gotta try it out (and hopefully camera360 really works well). How long till the MIUI team releases the full final version of MIUI 4.0?

Hey, doomed151, is this rom choppy as Zdunes compiled rom? Everything is working on that rom, but scrolling is laggy as hell.
