Question [Q] I want Visual Voice Mail gone! Possible to be notified w/o?

If I remember correctly, I wasnt notified of voicemails when I had the hero and evo after removing the vvm.

Is there a way to remove the visual voice mail from the evo 3d AND still be notified of voicemails?? I dont want it constantly running. Id prefer to use the phone system like I did with my nexus s 4g.

Any way to make this happen? Thank you!!!

You can remove it. It's located under system/app. You can use titanium back up to remove it also.

Wait, are you rooted?

Oh, heck yeah. I can remove everything! But will I be notified of voicemails like I was on the Nexus S 4G? Then have to call in to the system? I prefer this way to vvm but back in the day when I removed vvm, I wasnt notified. Thanks!

Oh that I don't know. I know I replace the app with Google Voice which is better IMO. I'm assuming you don't want that option though, right?

I guess what you can do is back up the app, and try it. If it doesn't work, reinstall it.

Nah. Id use my mobile number as my gv number if I get into it but I cant see how it would benefit me...I usually ONLY do data and sms with my mobile. Calls and VM are rare.

Ill definitely bookmark the guide if you got a link for me...

I had the HeroC, and I remember the days when VVM wouldn't provision correctly on CM7. But I would always get a nototification SMS from 9016 that I had received a VM.
