Alternate Kernels

I have created a flashable 3.13.607.5 Kernel and a flashable 3.14.605.5 Kernel for the ROM.

Some people feel that the 3.13.607.5 kernel gave better battery and cooling than the latest kernel.

Feel free to download and test for yourself!

These are in old school method as to make one simple step for everyone. This also resets mainver to 1.00.000.0

Instructions
  1. Download to root of SD Card
  2. Reboot to Recovery
  3. Flash Zip
  4. Phone will reboot to hboot
  5. Press power one time so it will scan the SD Card
  6. Install boot.img when prompted
  7. Reboot when prompted

Download the 3.13.605.7 kernel HERE

Download the 3.14.605.5 kernel HERE

Sorry can someone help. I tried to go back to the 3.13.605.7 kernel using the instructions.

Checked my build number and it still says 3.14.605.5. Did the flash 3 times and still same results.

No errors during the update. I am currently on the latest leak and using cleanrom 4.5.

Really want to switch to 3.13 due to heat issues.

Thanks in advance.

#1- Neither kernel causes heat issues. Wipe and flash issues cause heat issues. Only difference is battery life.

#2-Build number has no bearing on kernel. That is the rom build number.

OK, but how can I verify that I was able to flash successfully back to the 3.13.605.7 kernel?

settings>about phone>software>more>kernel version. Need to tell me which version you have since you don't know which is the one you started with.

Ok, please don't be mad if this is somewhere else in the thread, but I did do a quick search.

Anyways, of the two linked kernels above, which is the one with the reputation of having better battery life? The filenames don't match the kernels listed in his post. Thanks!
