Xperia S fast charging removed

According to this thread, the Xperia S does not have fast charging.

Also I looked around after and someone said that the first 10000 units had fast charging but they removed it to keep costs down.

Does this mean they added a new battery that wasn't fast charging or did they remove some kind of chip that controlled the fast charging. My Xperia S has always charged fast and it is an early week model so I assume that it has fast charging, but maybe it doesn't. Why would they include a fast charger if it doesn't have that feature?

Also my Xperia S is getting really bad yellow tint so I am sending it back to Amazon and getting a new one, but it would suck if the new one doesn't have that fast charging as I quite like that feature. Maybe I will just switch to an Xperia P since that is confirmed to have it.

Okay so I got a reply from a Sony Support person on their forums and he stated that the Xperia S does not have fast charge.

I find this to be a load of crap because:

Also if you look under the 851 specs it says Fast Charging and then lists the compatible phones which include the Xperia S and P. Then it lists normal charging as any other micro usb phone.

Also it was WIDELY reported to have quick charge and their is no way Sony PR did not catch the reports about it. If you look it up, there is many more posts and articles about the S featuring it than there is with the Xperia P featuring it considering that is what the support person said it is in.

Next you can not find quick charge listed on any of their white papers for either product which would lead me to believe they didn't list it incase they wanted to remove the feature later.

Lastly people have done charging tests and it clearly charges at the claimed speeds of the quick charging. Also the battery is of the same voltage and type as the Xperia P battery.

I find it quite irritating that Sony support is telling people that the phone doesn't have the feature when 99.9 percent of the public buying the phone thinks it does. If everyone perceives something to be true into becomes reality regardless of the facts.

I still love Sony and my phone, but this kind of trash should be limited to Apple.
