Yeah, I thought of that. You do still need a way to reset if the phone hung. I just figured keeping it on will give me enough time to track it until they get it into place with no signal and the batt dies. Tracking it on a friends phone while following a possibly dangerous thief might not be a good idea anyway.
My new plan is to tether the phone physically to myself in places with possible thieves.
Doesn't the NSA have some sort of trojan that can track phones when they're off? How do we get that?
