Maybe they should make it an optional install, because I know I'll never need it.

hmm that's a bold statement Samsung should be more humble or they might end up with there foot in there mouth so to speak the group off ppl that find exploits for a hobby are not ones to be temped! most major companies have learned the hard way. I just hope that's not how this plays out...at the same time... I hope Samsung sees the benefits of playing nice with developer's

I'm less worried about knox than I am about how vulnerable Basebands are to outside manipulation, eavesdropping etc. Seems to me that if a criminal enterprise wanted to be super successful they would exploit all phones vs exploiting only one brand.

Does this open the possibility of rooting without tripping Knox or perhaps removing the Knox bootloade?

Impossible to remove knox boatloader once you have it.
