[Q] Flashing Stock and Restoring Kernel

Sorry I'm a noob but I would like to know if I flashed my Nexus 7 back to stock would it restore the original kernel or do I have to back that up?

If you restore to factory stock, everything is returned to how it was when you first set it up. So yes stock kernal would be restored.
