If I try to port a rom and it doesn't works, will my device be soft bricked (can be recovered using CWM) or hard bricked?

i think most of the time it will be hard bricked.

it does not matter by the processor, they have to be really close devices, ike the T989 t-mobile galaxy s2 and the skyrocket at&t galaxy s2, do some research first.
