Default [Q] I have a problem with keyboard

Hi,
I have a G1 Tim Italy debran T-Mobile (RC7).
After making the rom change , my keyboard does not work, the keys A, Q, write no sense words. For example if I press the A writes amncs, x , or if I press the shift rule the volume.

Could you help me to resolve the problem?

Besides I not have the root permission...for this problem I can't write on Telnet to obtain a root permission.

Thanks

Serena

Have you tried just re-flashing the ROM and seeing if that resolves your problems?

Found it. Since I found this as the first result on Google for those same characters and know many others have problems without an answer in sight... I took my phone apart and started swapping out boards.

The keyboard actually spans across two separate boards, on the front button panel and the board where the SIM card slides into. The menu circuit board was the culprit. I guess if this board misfires, the front keyboard gets it too.

Interesting the keys worked perfect from a boot terminal. I guess the Linux kernel speeds up the keyscan routine and the higher scan rate picked up the short circuit. I spent earlier in the day doing factory restores, flashing new roms, etc...

I had slight corrosion on my circuit boards from sodium hydroxide vapors. Cleaning doesn't work well in my experience. The only thing that I know completely removes the conductive salts would be melting fresh solder flux on the connections. And they are pretty darn tiny!

Having a similar problem with my G1. del types JHGL and fiddles with ringer volume, enter types amncs,x, spacebar types / ~Z{ , p types pq8yt19d, back types U542i3. searching on google many people have encountered this problem with the same exact gibberish. How can so many people get the same exact gibberish from corrosion? seems unlikely..
