Default [Q] G2 won't connect to cell network after unlocking

I unlocked my G2 before leaving on trip to Europe and after the unlock process has finished phone now can't connect to gsm network at all. I used 3 different sim cards including t-mobile original sim card nothing helps. Also did hard reset and reflashed with OOB ROM from dev thread, nothing helps. Anybody has the same issue? Any other suggestions?

Dear friend, my issue exactly. No connection after unlocking. I have tried virtualy anything (different sims, firmware reinstallation, reboots, reset ) nothing happens. As far as i can tell after unlocking the phone cannot read properly no sim at all. It behaves asz a phone whith no sim in it. Try open your phone with no sim and try search for networks. You will get the same error message. I have contacted HTC and awaiting an answer. Where did you found the unlock code?

After you entered the unlock code, you got a pop up message saying something to the effect of "Unlock code successfully entered, rebooting device." Did the device instantly reboot for you or did it take a while? I'm curious as my device just sat there for five minutes before rebooting.

Edit: I should note that I cannot test my device with my foreign SIMs right now, but my T-Mobile connection is working fine post-unlock. Also, it might help to read through this thread. More anecdotal experiences with G2 on other networks in there.

The device took about 1 minute or so to reboot. And after that not even the original TMo card is working. Where did u get your unlock codes?

I didn't mention because I assumed that as long as it works (meaning the popup said the unlock was successfully entered) then it doesn't matter what the source was. I got my code from T-Mobile, who in turn requests the codes from HTC.

I unlocked by inserting a friend's AT&T sim. Strangely, the device didn't give me the unlock dialog at all when I inserted a Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) sim. It couldn't register to any networks when my CHT sim was inserted. However, I did not have a "no sim inserted" error in my notification bar, so it's not the same as your situation, I think.

Strange, mine worked flawlessly, just as it did with my G1.

I have the same issue with "no service" on my unlocked

trying the "G2Radio S-OFF, SUPERCID, Unlock Phone" way.

on "su" command in adb shell it says "permission denied"

also when I'm trying to do

what's the problem? please help " gfree -f " it ends up with an error:
attempting to power cycle MMC: failed
module failed to load: operation not permitted

What is your phone? (G2, DZ if DZ which on)
What are your software versions (see Settings -> About phone)
- baseband
- kernel
- main version

Try to follow the guide at the wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki...Rooting_the_G2 or if this is a DZ then better http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.ph...ire_Z:_Rooting

have fun - Guhl
