Froyo is a bit of a pain to root! Well, this fixes that.

What this does
It is an app you install from the market or by side loading, that has a single button that will root your device.
How safe is this?
Should be 100% safe - nothing on disk is changed besides the root binaries, so if something goes wrong, simply rebooting the device should fix up any and all issues. Let me know if you find any bugs!
The new temporary root option works on 99% of available Android devices - no list yet of which specific devices are incompatible with the temporary root option - I am still trying to find out.
Here is the list so far of known compatible and incompatible devices for the permanent root option. I haven't actually tested these myself - I only have a Galaxy S device - but this list has been created by reports from users.

Didnt't work on my stock HTC Tmobile G2 with Froyo 2.2.
I read that the user egzthunder1 achieved permanent Root on my phone's model, but is not a "One Click" method. Dont know if that method could be implemented to this project. It would be amazing!! Anywayz, Thanx!!
PS: this is the link to egzthunder1's method

I have used your OCLF with Eclair and it was awesome. I just upgraded to Froyo (after removing root and OCLF) and I'm waiting to see if there is something similiar for Froyo. With z4root seems like you are very close to having another OCLF+Root app ready. Will you add z4root into OCLF any time soon?
BTW, a couple of my friends got a SGS with recovery mode locked. It seems that those 3 button fix are for european roms and might not work for asian roms? So what lagfix would you suggest for them? can they still use OCLF but use adb to get into recovery mode for reboot? Without the 3-button and without going into full blown rom flashing and such (they are not technical type), seems like they could be stuck with a laggy phone that can't be improved? They were hoping froyo would improve a bit but seems like the lag issue is still there.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the great work and I completely agree with your philosophy that having an app with one click lagfix process and being reversible is the way to go. Thanks for the great effort!
Doesn't work on my HTC stock wildfire 2.1 which was upgraded to the HTC update to 2.2
I'm using HTC Wildfire which I bought from India, that was stock HTC 2.1 Eclair when I bought it but later I upgraded it to 2.2 Froyo with the HTC update, now I want to root my phone and I tried using z4root so what I did was I downloaded the apk file from my PC and transferred it to my phone using USB cable, later ran the apk file using astro file manager from my phone itself, which was successfully installed as well. Now the problem was when I opened the app it gave me two options temp root and permanent root, so I was kinda skepty to try it permanently so I choose the temp option, after selecting, the wheel kind of symbol was running for sometime and at the bottom it said aquiring root shell after some seconds it jumps directly to home screen without the reboot. Now i thought it ran properly and did what needed to be done so i opened up the app drawer but couldn't see the super user icon. So I thought may be I have to unmount my SD Card and I did that and repeated the whole process again but still I have the same thing. Do we need to connect phone to the PC while doing that, and FYI I've even enable the USB debugging mode as well as I've allowed the installation of app from unknown source, moreover I haven't rooted my phone prior to this. So if anyone of you could solve this for me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks ppl will be eagerly waiting for your response on this one.
