Yes and it didnt work, also I cannot install applications that are unsigned via ADB which means I can't develop applications until I fix this

i downloaded and unzipped the SDK and i have my phone hooked up via usb with debugging enabled and the sd card unmounted(i'm attempting method one) but when i go to use the adb commands it just says that adb is not a recognizable command, i'm fairly new at this so idk if i did something wrong but if you could help that'd be great

Just because you have unzipped the sdk does not mean its installed. Search Google for how to install android sdk and you'll see what I mean. I'd give you the link but I'm on my phone

Just wanted to say that Method 2 worked like a charm for me! Downloaded RazorSQL and was able to connect to the db file. Found that the 'non-market' setting was in the 'secure' table.

Followed the instructions and bam! Titanium backup was able to restore Dungeon Hunter for me!!!!

Many thanks!

QUESTION: with method 1, is it supposed to create a checkbox or anything to enable or disable the non-market apps? method 1 enabled it meaning i tried and installed something and it worked but i dont see anywhere to disable...

Question Triumph and disappointment

I had attempted to root my motorola backflip without success and many folks were less than patient with my questions related to this issue.
Enter Samsung Galaxy S (Captivate)! Move over iPhone, hello Heaven. I managed to root my Captivate entirely without the aid of a computer.

Now, I attempted to do the third procedure recommended in this post and here is my issue. When viewing the terminal commands on my Captivate browser, the last several words of each command are cut off. In short, partial commands are missing. I overlooked this initially and entered the commamd as I read it, screwed up my phone, repaired it, and still need the command lines.

Is there any way I could get a copy of these commands in their entirety? Perhaps via email?

Also, I thought I might recommend another app for this procedure which explores root files and provides terminal emulation. It is called SUFBS. I have, thus far, been very please with this app.

Thanks for your time all!

Be patient with folks, fellow tech lover. You were a newbie at this once, too.

Titanium Backup available from the Market can fix your Busybox issue. The app has a button which reads Problems? Press this button and you will get the latest busybox. ;)

Total Android noob here, but I managed to follow the directions. Obviously did something wrong, though, because I can't get past the boot animation screen.

I can't get into the phone through USB anymore...

I DID back up my settings.db

I can boot up into recovery mode, and I seem to recall installing and backing up with clockworkmod recovery at some point. I have been using Titanium Backup for quite a while. (However, Titanium Backup won't restore because it is an unknown source, hence the reason for trying this mod).

So, now I'm sitting at the prompt
"Reboot system now"
"reinstall packages"
"delete all user data"
"delete cache data"

I'm pretty sure I have a update.zip sitting in the root of the SD card...

Do I just reinstall packages? Or should I try other options first?
